Yes it does. As you can see by what the Thunder just did, Durant posterizes 2Pat and from that moment on they go on a run and get the distance needed to win that game. Durant & WB closed it out to seal the game hitting KEY shots.

Literally scoring 2 points in the first qtr is equal to 2 in the 4th...but actually momentum wise and clutch wise it just isn't.

Josh Howard was the perfect example of this, he used to be mr.1st qtr. Always scoring in the first and not doing much else the rest of the game.

If scoring in the 4th didn't matter more than Morey would not be looking for a superstar/closer type of player because obviously Scola and Martin would be it.
