Haha...true but Machado looked really bad. He was having a helluva time fighting through picks and staying in front during practice. It will be an uphill battle for him to learn how to play defense, given his lack of size and athleticism.

Machado is the Alston to Lin's Lowry.

Not really...He has been a good defensive player since high school.

I wish he was less confident.

Anyone else notice a pattern among the posters in this thread?

I for one enjoy how easily Machado was able to piss off the Lin brigade.

    Apparently.

This is a guy on our team showing some competitive fire and a desire to make the team better, but the comments struggle to be positive.

How original. I'll be looking for more of these comments from people like you.

A Lin fan talking about originality, neat! Don't worry my friend, you'll hear more. We're not even in the regular season yet. Brace yourselves!

EDIT: My original point stands - Machado is helping the team by bringing competition to camp, but most of the comments in every Machado thread are negative. Why? You know why. Anyway, may Machado lead the Vipers to victory.

I'm kind of lost at where you draw the line between cockiness and confidence...

Machado seems to have pretty good court vision. Throws a lot of jump passes. His D is prob not up to scratch though. His comments seem patronizing no doubt, but I like his confidence, as long as it translates to good play.

You might try to understand where folks like us are coming from.

We're mostly Knicks (or ex-) fans who've seen how one or two envious players can potentially poison a lockerroom. There was no way Lin could've returned to NY after Melo and JR Smith said what they did about his contract.

Look around, and you'll find no record ANYWHERE of Lin the undrafted global icon badmouthing or being disrespectful to any of his teammates - EVER.

Then there's this undrafted rookie referring to his older, far more established team leader as a kid.

Let's see how enjoyable you'd find a Rockets season derailed by lockerroom problems incited by a disgruntled back-up PG,

Ever wonder why the "members since Lin" aren't saying Tony Douglas is cocky and disrespectful? Because he's not.
