Maybe there was some truth to that. Maybe T-mac looked real good in practice and changed their minds.

Maybe you should do the same with all your assumptions and reading between the lines posts. None of us have access to the Rockets practices, so how do we know if he lacks explosiveness or he is not beating out his teammates? He may be doing great in practices, but the Rockets are being overly cautious. Adelman has decided he can't afford to have T-Mac in and out of the line-up on this year's team. Glad to see both of them on the same page & cooler heads prevailing.

Funny, how some of ya'll just want to bury a guy without getting the facts straight.

What Adelman is saying makes perfect sense. He's handling this smartly. When McGrady returns, his effect on the team should be positive, and that means timing it right and working him back in slowly. It could be that they just haven't been able to trade him. McGrady's return will help the team.

Look let's face it. You and all the other McGrady haters here would want nothing better than for him to come back against the second best player in the league, after being away from the game for almost a year, and possibly "get owned", as one of you're fellow haters stated, so that you could bash him even more.

it's a typical power play with each side trying to show who has the largest wang. In the end, both sides need each other. Regardless of how many times DD post's in a hour, the reality is that T-Mac will again play in a Rockets uniform. Given how he's trying like hell to say the right thing (with still dropping his pants to say look at my balls), I think this might just end easier than previously assumed.

Long run short, I'll trade a 23million dollar meglomaniac for a 23million dollar expiring team player.

No. I just find it odd that, for a guy who's been publicly telling how much he wants to play, he backs out when he's given the chance.

    And I'm not a hater.

Much of this Tmac situation has been because of misunderstanding/ miscommunication. It's a good thing that (hopefully) Tmac and Rick have a common understanding. It seems Tmac is able to accept a bench role (good thing he's not AI), which is great for the progression of this team. He was at the Portland game on the bench and didn't seem upset or bothered by anything.

Now Tmac has got to show on the court that he's willing to be a team player... which means no more holding the ball, taking lots of shots, and slowing down the offense.

"Adelman said there is no timetable for McGrady’s return, but he said he does not want to bring McGrady back for four games in five nights — a stretch the Rockets begin Dec. 15 — but that when McGrady does come back, it likely will be off the bench."

Hmmm. The 15th huh. Isn't the 15th the date when newly signed free agents are able to be traded? Just something to think about.

Dude why is it so hard for you to understand that it was presented to him as a joke. He was not really going to let McGrady play against Cleveland or anyone else until after the 4 games in 5 nights that starts on the 15th and ends on the 19th.

lol. didn't adelman just said he wouldn't play the 4 games in 5 nights, which starts in december?

so if he was given the chance to play v. the cavs and declined, wouldn't he play the next game then?

    seriously?

Seems to Adelman tricked McGrady into saying he is not ready.

Is this what's this forum has become? I love this board and it has been very informative over the years, but this twisting of words has got to stop. People will read this stuff and believe it's true.

    Answer quickly:

Did Adelman ask Tracy if he wanted to play against the Cavs?

Be realistic. Adelman wasn't even going to let him play in the Cav's game.

Adelman sarcastically asked Tracy, knowing that he wasn't going to let him. It would be stupid for him. Get some common sense.
