Max is a great guy. I have known him for a long time. I wish he would start posting again.

I do not want to speak for Max, but I can tell you that when you are busy with business and family, it becomes very difficult to take time to post here when every time religion is mentioned, you get crapped on. What makes it worse is that those doing so not only crap on your beliefs but assert that you are somehow less intelligent or sane because you believe in a God that you cannot prove or disprove.

    Brilliant.

I certainly hope that those people (you know who you are) are very proud of themselves.

This board is not as good a place without Max. Over time, I am sure others will leave that will be a loss as well.

    (kicks soapbox back under desk)

Nice post. I won't argue with it at all.

The quote you cited earlier from Ephesians though would seem to support what you consider Marxism.

Right there is saying that people should labor so they can share that labor with others.

Keep in mind that Marxism as outlined by Karl Marx doesn't talk about the state as being the agent through which wealth is redistrubed. In fact in the utopia state of Comunism as described by Marx there is no government and everyone works to their own ability to help everyone else.

The central tenet of Marxism is "Each to their own ability as each to their own need." which means you work as hard as you can and in return your you get back that which matches your needs. From what I am seeing of the Bible quotes posted by yourself and others taking that on face value doesn't seem to conflict with the Bible.

Part of the confusion on this topic is applying Biblical principles to a modern economic and political context.

I would just like to say that the use of roll-eyes is a particularly stirring gesture of Christian fellowship.

Well, in his defense, I brought the roll-eyes out first. But I would swear there was scripture somewhere to back that up. Didn't Jesus give a roll-eyes to the disciples for falling asleep in Gethsemane? ;)

LOL. There are probably a lot of roll eyes, between the lines, in the good book. :)

I wish he would return to the board again, his devotion to his faith is inspiring.

If more people were as passionate and tolerant in their beliefs instead of parading around as cynical naysayers crapping all over the mindsets of others, the world would be a better place.

But we do not live in that world, nor should we ever expect to. It takes one hell of a thick skin to endure what MM did on almost a daily basis in this forum. I can imagine there comes a point in time where it just doesn't become fun for him anymore, but rather almost a pain.

This has been a crowning achievement of the left here. MadMax got rightfully burned at the stake. Disloyalty to the complete ideology mindset will NOT be tolerated...The hardliners will see to this.

We have allowed such weak minded mud-bloodminded to infiltrate the pure bloodminded cause and now we have seen the result being most exemplified by the health-care debacle from within...The hardliners have allowed the presence of such weak minded with the hope that there could be change...But all it has done is brought the pure bloodminded strife...!

Seriously, what has inclusiveness done to benefit Obama?...The hardliners here will agree with me..... nothing. Castigate these fools, and you will see results for your agenda much better...

I'm disappointed that Max has decided not to post here. I felt like he was the only Christian on the board who was allowed to actually be a Christian on the board without being insulted. I didn't see that thread that drove him off apparently. Very sad. The D&D is a pretty intolerant place unfortunately. Each niche section is pretty much convinced they are the only ones who could possibly be right and people who disagree with them are intolerant, ignorant, bigots, racists, illogical, sheep, etc, etc, etc.

Yeah, I'm sure Max would really enjoy seeing you and ROXRAN twist his reasons for leaving into a political pretzel.

He left because of people who hate religion and went out of their way to be exceptionally rude to those that believe. Considering he was the one of the few that put himself out there about his faith, It seems he felt the attacks personally.

Dont twist this as a left v right thing...you know damn well that wasnt it at all.

ps....I also think losing Max detracts noticably from this forum. We all should wish we were as good a man as MadMax.

I didn't put it into a left vs right thing context. In fact, I think I specifically said it was EACH group that was pretty crappy towards differing opinions.

As I wouldn't consider Max on the political right (or left) I wouldn't think it appropriate to turn this into a left vs right debate. I'm sorry that you interpreted what I said as a left vs right statement though. Considering I don't think either side on this board would claim me as one of their own, I think you should take a moment to reread what I said. I try my hardest to avoid being another political tool in this forum.

LEFT = they are the only ones who could possibly be right
RIGHT = people who disagree with them are intolerant, ignorant, bigots, racists, illogical, sheep, etc, etc, etc.

Why would you make that distinction when I didn't?
