I'd love for Troy Williams to get more PT. He played well in the limited minutes he's played. Both here and Memphis
Wow this offseason has been crazy As for the trade itself Dekker and the 1st round pick - Dekker has some really bright moments but not always consistent. I did like him off the bench but rarely played in the playoffs even though he was back from his injury. Assuming the pick is in the 20+ range - not a huge deal. Lou Williams - great scorer off the bench and I would say probably a bit more consistent than Gordon, but late season acquisition. Felt the move was more to get ride of Brewer than anything else. Losing Lou hurts, but his role was somewhat redundant with Gordon there. Bev - This one hurts. Dude is the heart and soul of the team. Love the guy and hope him the best in LA. But as good as Bev is he isnt CP3 of course. So the way I see it the Rockets gave up 1 starter and kept the rest of the starters intact and its main 6th main. They upgraded significantly the position where they gave up the starter. This is a great trade for the rockets on paper
You're still talking about three rotation players on good contracts and a first round pick. I know CP3 elevates our team to another level, but if you dumped those guys purely to free up cap space to sign him then we probably would have gotten picks back. Instead, we gave up a first round pick to be able to give him a max extension. That's fine with me. I just think follow up moves are clearly needed and are forthcoming.
Clippers took our trash for a hall of famer. Good move. CP3 should be able to show James how to not quit. Now looking forward to the next moves.
Who will be left? Counting this trade: Harden Paul Ariza Anderson Capela Gordon Harrell Nene Williams Wiltjer Taylor Brown Onuaku Zhou Qi Eventually, maybe: Harden Paul Ariza ? George/Carmelo/Wade Capela Gordon etc.
I will miss Beverley,Lou and Dekker. I loved them all. Edit: im sure this will move harden off-ball most of the time. I think he'll be a 40% 3pt shooter, because he can get those open looks now and doesnt have to pull up only
That's probably why we had to make such a big move to get him. Him keeping those bird rights for the 5 year max was important to him.
