Been saying this to friends since pre-season. But not just starters, this is the best backcourt ever, including bench, too.

    Harden
    Paul
    Gordon

    beats

    Isiah
    Dumars
    Microwave

Maybe this is in discussion, if they could have made it work vs trading Petrovic, and if he doesn't have the accident. In today's era, Portland probably doesn't make that trade.

    Drexler
    Porter
    Petrovic

I know Pippen ran the point guard for the bulls and he guarded the Magic Johnsons and John stocktons as well as gary paytons of that time and Harper used the defend the weakest of the SG and SF. I would say Pippen and Jordan were the all time greatest back court, especially the 1995-1998 era bulls.

Pippen was still primarily a SF. Don't think we can count them as a backcourt but if they count for sure I would put them over Harden and CP3 unless the duo wins a ring.

I feel CP3 is perfect complement to Harden because he chose so himself. He could go the Dwight Howard route and demand as much touches as Harden while killing our transition offense. Instead he adapted his game perfectly: he puts the energy he saves on offense into defense. He lets Harden shine (not a very tough task TBH lol) and does the "hard work".

and it makes his job a drew-league easy on offense and takes it to unworldly efficiency

We will see some amazing pass-pass "hockey assists" from these two guys both contributing to a single assist.

It's not rooting against when you already know the final outcome.

Agreed. My post was just tongue in cheek regarding the misguided notion that bev was the perfect compliment to Harden. An upgrade there with bev off the bench should have been the goal the whole time he was here.

So why are you assuming GSW are in the playoffs if we are ahead of them?

The best team doesnt always win. Yes, the Warriors have more talent, but the Rockets have the pieces to disrupt the warriors ball movement and have the ability to switch on almost every pic play. This isnt to say that the Rockets can stop them, but as long we can keep up, well have a chance at winning regardless of whether we play 4 perfect games or not. Seriously, think of how daunting a task it must be to keep up with a dude like Harden now that he has cp3, an army of 3 point shooters who shoot on sight, and horde of defenders that can switch and willing to do some serious dirty work. So yes, its totally reasonable to think the Rockets have a decent chance of beating GS in a 7 gm series. That said, i wouldn't bet on it though.

We'd have a pretty effective foil to the Warriors if Anderson keeps it up. Imagine a lineup of:

    Anderson
    Luc
    Tucker
    Gordon
    Paul

Going against their "death" lineup, we'd be able to pull Draymond away from protecting the rim and keep them on their toes while we rest Harden and Ariza. Put Luc on Draymond and hide Anderson on of their perimeter players. We could also REALLY go nuts and put in Harden at the SF, and Ariza could easily cover for Tucker. Imagine Klay Thompson or Iguodala having to cover Paul (or Gordon) and then dealing with a well rested Harden right after.
