It doesnt matter what you think bro, if Dwight is available you can bet Morey will try and get him by any means necessary

We'll see. Don't be shocked when he doesn't.

You know im "ok" with Josh Smith, but I dont think he's a true franchise altering player. Still, he's a significant upgrade in alot of areas that the Rockets are lacking.

The major question with Smith alot of people have is... how much is he worth?

IMO, you look around the NBA, and see which teams have the capspace to truly offer him a 10+ mil a year contract... You are looking at really just Houston, Atlanta, Dallas, Cleveland, and Phoenix.

Tell me which of those teams are going to shell out max cap room for Smith? I dont think any of them other than MAYBE Phoenix will, and that's still hard to see given they are so far away from contending its not even funny.

Point is, Smith could be had at a much lower rate then most people think. In that case on a value contract, Smith is a great option for Houston next Summer on the right contract... which is still more than a team like Brooklyn or San Antonio(teams that would most likely want him the most) will be able to give him this Summer.

Just like you ignore the fact that Josh Smith is a career 15 ppg and 8 rebound guy and has never put up an elite season and he plays in the EAST for God's sake...lol..

Replacing an 8 ppg and 4 rebound guy with a 15ppg and 8 rebound guy is a HUGE upgrade, how do you not see that?

I would love Smith at $10 million a year... But that's a pipe dream.. Do you see the max deals players have been getting. Heck, Eric Gordon only played 9 games last year and got a max deal. He's going to get $17-$20 million a year easy from some team but it won't be the Rockets.

Yao's injury problems began early in his NBA career (4th year), and they were injuries that he couldn't play through at all (foot/leg). Dwight's current injury problems began in his 8th season, and are injuries that he is playing through (shoulder/back). Doesn't really seem comparable to me.

This is Patterson's first season as a starter and he's around 11 and 4 and to spend $20 million a year for 5 more points and 4 more rebounds _ NO THANKS....

Doesn't matter if they become chronic, his team will wish they had spent the money they wasted on him on a better player.

Well if we are going by that, Smith's recent stats are more like 18/9 and it wouldn't cost 20 mil a year, it would cost more like 16 mil. Do you spend 16 mil a year to make the greatest weakness on your team go from being a huge defensive liability giving you 11/4 to being a great defensive player giving you 18/9? Of course. Every day, twice on sunday.

Yao played all year round too. Bones are still healing for several months after it's ok to start playing again. His body never got the opportunity to rest and fully rehab.

If he's struggling with chronic injuries, will he be the best center in the game? Of course not. As it stands, Howard would be a marginal upgrade over Asik, if Howard is constantly dealing with chronic injury, he wouldn't even be an upgrade over what we have now anymore.

LOLOLOL at him being a "marginal upgrade" to Asik.

    I'm done, you're obviously one of Dwight's baby-mama's.

A max deal is around $20 million a year for Smith and there is a team out there that will give him a max deal...

I'm not saying the guy isn't good by no means, but $20 million a year good... Ehhhhh....

Yao made every NBA center look silly after his first 2 years even DH12 when Howard was named all nba 1st team and Shaq when he was winning a title in Miami. Yao was injury prone but when he was healthy there was no center in the nba who could match up with him. They had to resort to double and triple teaming him even when he doesn't have the ball like the Blazers series.
