What if Chris Bosh was the something up his sleeve? Certainly upping the risk profile! Of course if he can't get clearance, none of this matters. ____________________________________ "They are not unbeatable," Morey said of Golden State. "There have been bigger upsets in sports history. We are going to keep improving our roster." "We are used to long odds," Morey added. "If Golden State makes the odds longer, we might up our risk profile and get even more aggressive. We have something up our sleeve." ____________________________________ Later on the Woj Pod(from the summer)... How much of your time is spent thinking about the Warriors, thinking ways about building a roster, trying to think of other ways to close the gap? Generally, I felt prepping or thinking about one team in your strategic planning was a mistake. That's what I would have answered for the last...I'm in the league 15 years now. Now we're in the situation where we have a good chance to be the 2nd best team in the NBA. Vegas thinks that. We have to prove that on the floor. The other thing that is difficult right now with the Warriors is they're historically great. They could end this run being one of the best of all time. I am forced to think about the Warriors. We're just here to win the title. That's all I think about. You can't help but think about the Warriors. It's not just closing the gap. We're not going to close it all the way. We do feel we closed it a lot this summer. There's never been two 70-win teams in a season. You not only want to add players to get you closer but also take more risks. We'll continue to be in the news because we'll continue to take risks to get better. We haven't been perfect in our moves. I can rattle off all of our mistakes. We may make a few more. To close that gap, we have to take risks & ones that may not make sense to people on the surface. ____________________________________
Chris Bosh's illness was ruled career ending, but he can still make a comeback The latest medical news regarding Bosh isn’t good for his comeback hopes, but it doesn’t completely rule them out, either. https://www.sbnation.com/nba/2017/6...eer-ending-retirement-comeback-still-possible
I think Chris Bosh should call it a career, but this is his life and his passion so I understand why he’s not ready to give it up
I know you meant this tongue and cheek but there is some truth to this. Chris has been warned numerous times, and knows the probabilities. If he wants to risk it, then he should be able to.
I think for NBA, it's enough one doctor has doubts and they won't let him play. Him dying on court would cause a huge blow to NBA image.
I read on twitter that Bosh is speaking soon at Morey's analytics conference...so maybe there isn't much sizzle after all with them recently following each other on twitter.
But it is his choice. Pro hockey and soccer players are still playing even with similar conditions/risk. And would argue that thise spprts are even more physical. If Chris takes all the precautions - hydration, no back to backs, blood thinners/medication, regular testing, rest between short minutes on court, compression socks, even wearing rubber suit/walk around often on plane rides - why can't he have a choice? I know of many cops and soldiers who develop heart disease but still fight the good fight. Firemen too. Are their lives not as valuable, would their loss/risk prevent them from earning livelihood of choice?
If 1 out of 100 says it I'm cool with it. The man wants to play, if he can get a clearance to play that and he gives the team informed consent, it's not my business. As long as no one is misleading him in any way about any risk factors.
