    Congrats Yao the Man

USA will win but I hope Yao does well.

Chinas guard was found a streetball competition? Is his name Rafer Alston?

Actually, China is the #11 Ranked team in the FIBA World Rankings.

Uhh, if you are ranked #11, there are at least 10 teams better than you.

ALL US has to do is to put 5 Guards on the floor...the chinese guard wont even be able to bring the ball out of their own half....and has to let yao ming play guard and Yao does that behind the back dribble and dunk..
    so 140:2..

to be more realistic, Yao would be shut down because of his fatigue, China wont be able to do anything, if they get luck they get some 3s in..
So I say US by 20+. They could've gone 40, but they playing in China so i guess they wont push that much.

I was thinking the other day, if Yao's not on the floor, then Lebron could've defend any of the five positions..He's stronger than China's backup centre, he's proly not slower than their guard.

    What a fun thread. :D

Yao said a few days ago that he would choose to retire right away if China can beat USA in the Olympic basketball game.

Do you guys want to see that Yao retires before he and the Rockets win the NBA Championship?

if China lost by 15 to 20 point to the dream8, then it is a "win" for China. Stay focus on the remaining competitions, Chinese team will advance to the final eight.

Yeah but they are better than 62 other teams. Rank #11 out of 73 isn't bad at all.

I'm sure he meant retire from FIBA basketball. Not the NBA.

Don't be so sure. He said explicitely basketball, not just FIBA.

His original words are somehting like this: "If we could beat USA team in this Olympic basketball game, I would retire right away since this would be the greatest achievement I could ever made."

Though on another occasion, Yao mentioned his possible retirement from Olympic competition after this one.

If China gets any higher than 8th, it's a win for them. China has no chance, there's a difference between loving the game and playing the game. China loves the game.....
