During the midst of all this hoopla, Yao Ming remains calm and within his current routine....

He says, "it seems like other people worry a lot more about the draft than I do. Truth is, a lot of the things they are thinking about don't mean much. I feel that being the first pick or not is not very important, if the Rockets weren't first I wouldn't be picked! Number 2 is fine, #10 is fine, as long as I can play ball in the NBA."

He also talks about Korean basketball... (controversy about Koreans having a huge home-field advantage in soccer.) How last October, playing a tournament in Korea, the whistles were also very painful to take... but the Chinese team was better enough that no amount of "help" could over-come the gap.

Yao Ming's routine the past few days have been live life as normal: every day, when training ends at 5:30 in the afternoon, he takes a shower, grabs his bowl and goes to the cafeteria to eat, and then returns to his room.. turns on his computer, and becomes hypnotized playing a game based on the "Three Kingdoms".

(For those curious about Yao's favorite game, http://www.soft-world.com.cn/tuijian/sg/yxfg.htm)

No bongs, no impregnanting fans, and no drinkin'. This is a kid every Chinese parent would love to have.
