Parsons reminds of a poor man's Lamar Odom. Tall guy that can handle the rock, pass, and rebound. If he can get he can score effectively in the NBA, he should be pretty good. He's probably the opposite of Bud in skill set.

I can't for the life of me understand the way that some of you think.
He's a more established Player so we should trade him??
How exactly does this make sense? Lets trade sombody who's finally coming into his own, That would be a smart move especially for a couple of unproven rookies. Bud showed great improvments on the defensive end towards the end of the season while also showing that he has the capability to take over games on the offensive end. This year will be a great judge on how well he's matured as a player, but i say buds a keeper.

We have two substantial perimeter players. We need to keep them both.:p

Agree completely. C-Bud has struggled with his confidence, but he has mad skills. He is very athletic with real explosion at the rim. When he is on, he can rain threes with the best of them. I thought his defense improved in the second half of last season. If Morris or Parsons go into god-mode, C-Bud might could back up the SG position or even start if Lee or Martin are moved. I am thinking this may be C-Bud's break out year and if so, some shuffling of the lineup may be required.

he did struggle this last year but he also avged 44% fg and 36.9% 3-pt...you can't ignore other data.

So would I, at least the majority of them, but solid has some good points. Bud's problem is his consistency with his shot. He has great form, a beautiful release, but he ain't consistent. I also think his defense improved the second half of last season... from horrible to mediocre. Hey, it was an improvement! In fact, while Adelman was hammered for continuing to play Bud when he was in that awful, persistent slump, the cat did eventually come out of it and his play improved overall. And because of that, Morey has a nice role player and a decent chip in his trade asset bag. Had Adelman just sat him, which would have been understandable, Bud would be pretty worthless to dangle in a trade, IMO, unless another GM saw what Adelman obviously was seeing in practice. Bud got very good at playing in Adelman's offense, passing and moving well without the ball. He's a smart guy. He's still a role player, though, with a bit of room to improve.

Well I wouldn’t say he’s the best shooter on our team, but I think that slump he was in definitely effected his FG%. The stroke on his jumper is fluid enough to make you want to believe that it’ll increase as time goes on, but who knows.

Rick thought he was good enough shooter to the point where almost after every time out they’d run that play where he comes off a screen and shoots that mid range jumper.

Even if you wanna go back two years to support your case, 44% and 36% are just average. But i'm not trying to ignore data, rather I was just going off of his more recent experience, which is probably the most accurate indication of where he is as a pro player. Do i think Bud can shoot better than he did last year? Yes. Do I consider him a good shooter? No, and there is nothing to indicate that he is. The things he does well are playing off the ball, fast breaks, getting to the rim, good passing, and good rebounding. Yes he can create his own shot, but that shot doesn't go in nearly often enough. He is not a good defender and he is not a good shooter. I think he can get better in both areas, but he's not there right now.

Parson shot 55% from the free throw line last year. I don't see how anyone who is that bad of a shooter can play SF in the NBA. I bet he does not make the team.

I think this argument is a waste of time considering we have not been exposed to what Parson's can do in the NBA. Lets wait till the season starts see who Morey keeps, see how these guys play then discuss who to be dropped.

Parsons' game is extremely similar to C-bud: solid all around game, more polished than the average rookie. C-buds the better athlete and shooter, Parsons is 6'10...and he's 6'10 lol. C-bud's probably the better player, but with his height I don't Parson will be a defensive liability, and with him in the roster I think it makes C-bud more expendable.

Either can be traded, or either could stay, same can be said of ANYONE on the Rockets roster.

Parsons though as a 2nd round pick is more than likely going to be out of the league in a year or two.....based upon odds etc.

Like it was said before Budinger is more of a scorer 6th manish. While Parsons is more well rounded. I could understand the Hedo Turkoglu comparisons. I see him as more Toni Kukoc. Maybe even a hybrid of both of them, but he plays alot like Kukoc did.
