Let's be reasonable. We drafted Batum, traded down for Donte Greene and Dorsey. Traded Donte Greene for Artest. I wish we had kept Batum. But at the time the series of events was an excellent result!
Jeremy Lamb is looking pretty good on the team. Nice for him to finally get a shot to show off what he can do after being stuck on OKC's bench.
Agree, Batum has arguably being their best player. Glue guy, bails the team out with a lot of last second catch and shoot shots, and makes the right passes
If you've watched any of their games, you would realize that this team could only get better. They lost the first 3 games of the season (two games to Atlanta by a combined 4 points and their losses in Chicago and New York were easily winnable). Hornets are getting great consistent production from: Batum, Walker, Jefferson, Marvin Williams, Zeller, and Lamb. Kaminsky and Lin have been inconsistent (were those guys more consistent this team could be incredible). Also the Hornets in the last few games have showed great heart and courage in the 4th quarter even when down by double digits, and have only recently begun to play tenacious defense. Clifford is a defensive genius and their defense (which up to now has been good, but not great) is only going to get better. Tomorrow they play the Cavs at home. Will be a good litmus test for them. The Charlotte fans have been electric (remember those same fans when the team was the Bobcats??)
Their offense seriously struggles with good defensive teams, but their closing lineups of Walker,Lin/Lamb,Batum and two bigs have been really effective lately on both offense and defense. It will be interesting to see how they do versus the Cavs.
Bump. Second in the East after win against the East. Still don't think they are talented enough to stay up here for long. At best 6-8 seed in the East. But they are sure having a wild ride.
charlotte hornets are nothing but a bunch of glue guys and role players. like last years hawks. NBA fans are finally starting to understand the importance of high IQ NBA players who know where to be on the court at all times. The game is changing from being dominated by freak athletes to being dominated by high IQ, highly skilled players. Guys like shane Battier, nic Batum, Draymond Green are finally getting their due. They need a stat, like... what percentage of plays was this person in the right position on the court. That would be an AWESOME stat.
IQ goes down the ****ter when you don't feel like being in that right spot, because your lead guy never does it anyway. This is where chemistry comes in, which you can't bottle into a stat, and those that try to do it just fool themselves and become laughing stocks, Morey and Hinkie.
Crazy thing about them is that MKG hasn't even played yet and he's one of the best perimeter defenders in the game. I mean his offense sucks but he will definitely help out.
