You know it will be really awkward if Raiders owner Mark Davis and some Raiders players like Derek Carr and Amari Cooper show up at a Spurs-Warriors game. Then officially announced the move to S.A. while fans in Oakland are watching this on national TV. That will be the ultimate slap-in-the-face for Oakland sports fans.

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14572902/red-mccombs-trying-lure-oakland-raiders-san-antonio

Former Minnesota Vikings owner Red McCombs said in a radio interview that San Antonio is ready if the Oakland Raiders decide to move to the city and that he is even willing to invest in the team if needed.

McCombs said he would be amenable to buying into the Raiders if that's what it would take to get the team to play in San Antonio.

"We would be happy to be investors if that what he wants," he said. "We have investors lined up if that what he wants. If he wants to keep it all to himself, that's OK too."

Me too. I think I could become a Raiders fan just for the logo.

    It's perfect, to be honest.

Would immediately be one of the best in sports, to put it bluntly.

As a single black Mexican mom with chocolate labs, I find it offensive and racist.

The whole San Antonio isn't ready, no corporate sponsors, etc.. is all BS. I hope the Raiders move to Texas. More teams in Texas the better IMHO!!!

The only factor here is if Bexar County (San Antonio) or Hays County (San Marcos) puts a vote on the docket for November to pay for a new stadium. That's really where it begins and ends.

If it's in between, it would be either Comal or Hays. I'm guessing somewhere in the empty spaces off of I-35 between San Marcos and New Braunfels. Probably closer to the outlet mall.

Seems like a strange place to put a stadium but I guess having easy access to both cities makes sense. They would need to consider creating a corridor from 130 to the stadium to add an additional way of getting there.

But its not total BS... especially if you're talking about putting a stadium somewhere other than directly in SA.

San Antonio has been used as leverage by NFL teams for decades.... they'll probably one day be the best of no other options, but it will take a failure on somebody else's part for a team to end up moving there (much like Houston only got the 32nd team after LA failed).

Source: To continue investment in the Austin area (COTA) don't be surprised if Red goes with the 'Austin Raiders' to start a completely new brand as San Antonio is a firmly Dallas Cowboy city that JJ won't allow to have a team [if the deal happens at all].

The Raiders name and logo is iconic. I don't see it being changed, and it should not be, no matter where they end up.

I'd put the odds of them actually moving to central Texas at something less than 10%. The other 3 choices (stay in NoCal, move to LA if the Chargers don't, move to San Diego if the Chargers do) are much more likely.

They will not move to be the 3rd team in Southern California unless they are going to be in LA.

Correct. Moving to St. Louis would still be more likely, and has a high chance to be approved unanimously, vs. a team in Central Texas.

The league will vote for whatever city can finance a stadium. If San Antonio or St Marcos commits funds to a stadium then that is where the Raiders are going. I don't know if that will happen in San Antonio but I doubt it will happen in St Louis in the next 10 years.
