    Lol.........

What about last season? He was slightly above average.........

A rotational NBA player. Not All-NBA worthy. I mean for 1/3 of 2012, Lin was a top 10 player.

Indeed, the dragon hath made a decision, the degree of worseness thereof being worse than the decision which hath been made by the Rockets.

Gogi might have very good numbers this year. But he only has one season like this under his belt.

But even just for this year, I'd take these guards ahead of him:
    Chris Paul
    James Harden
    Steph Curry
    Paul George
    Tony Parker
    Dwyane Wade

There are some others who are debatable:
    Westbrook (injured)
    Lowry
    Ellis
    Wall
    Lillard
    Lawson

Wade cannot be considered ahead of Dragic because he takes way too many games off and has the advantage of always playing in well-rested conditions.

Dragic is pretty clearly better than Ellis, Lillard and Lawson. Dragic's efficiency as a first option alone makes him a far better option than any of these 3.

    Is Dragic on the Rockets?

Is his team going to the playoffs?

Who is Frye and why does what he says matter?

Yeah, and Parker might be a better player, but had a worse year, and Paul George is not a guard.

I don't think Lin gets enough credit here, seriously. His acceptance of his role needs to be emphasised more. Andre Igoudala said something very profound. he sacrificed his numbers so guys who were waiting to get paid could get theirs. Imagine Lin taking 12-15 shots a game. Whose shots would go down - Tjones and Parsons most likely. Both those guys are still waiting to get paid, and want as many shots as they can get. Lin was a starter for all games last year on a team that was expected to win what, 34-40 games, even with Harden. And that team made the playoffs. they win 2 less games and they'd be Phoenix this year.

Many want to rewrite history but theRox made the playoffs last year when many predicted they would not. Now Goran had a great year this year, but couldn't win those two games that he needed to to bring them the eight seed. Swap Lin and Dragic and we can argue all day with no resolution, because we just don't know. Would Dragic perform better off the bench than Lin? Would Dragic as a starter more than compensate for the weak bench that would follow? There is a team dynamic that should not be ignored. All I know is that everywhere Lin has played minutes, his teams win. i can't say the same for Dragic. When we measure pg, i look for wins more than anything.

Dragic would be the starting PG if he continued to play here. Remember the first Lin/Harden year and all the LOFs complained about how Harden took away Lin's mojo? THAT is what got Lin to the 2nd team.

Dragic's ability to play next to a ball-dominating guard is much superior to Lin's. He'd need no acceptance of some new role because he's good enough not having to be a 6th man.

And what ball dominant player has he had to play beside? When he and Lowry were together that kinda ended badly for both. Bledsoe is definitely not ball dominant. He wanted to get paid in three years and with Rox he will not get the same as if he went to Phoenix. Good for him. But why do Rox fans lament a player that didn,t want to be here. let it go and cheer on the guy that you have. And if you can,t bring yourself yo cheering him, at least don't unfairly disparage him.

    Bledsoe USG% is 24.5
    Harden USG% is 26.8

I think Dragic can make do with deferring to Harden 1 extra time every 40 possessions.

Dragic plays beside Bledsoe and he has had absolutely no problem thriving in the offense with Bledsoe.

The crux of your argument is "Lin could be just as good as Dragic in his position, but since he isn't we can never know".

That's fair, but the same then needs to be said of every other player. Adam Morrison could be just as good as Lebron James if he had a perfect team surrounding him, Patrick Beverley would be the next Rondo if we surround him with great off-ball offensive players who are all sharp shooters etc.

The only thing that matters is what you produce, and Lin hasn't been producing to the expected levels. It's all nice and easy to blame it on the system or the team, but more often than not great players find ways to make themselves useful on the court. James Harden is the perfect example. He came off the bench, and played besides two ball dominant players who are equally deserving of the ball on any occasion, but that didn't stop him from becoming the best 6th man in the league.

Like I already said, by making statements like "Rockets would be 6th seed or worse if they had Dragic instead of Lin" is only going to draw more unnecessary criticism towards Lin.

That's ridiculous. You can't give credit for wins to guys just because of the position they play. There are tons of role players at all positions who win primarily due to who their teammates are.

Dragic carried Phoenix on his back for a HUUUUGE chunk of this season to the 9th seed, w/ 47 wins. Rockets finished 8th seed last year with 45 wins -- with an All-Star in Harden carrying us there.

That is really not the best argument to make when trying to prop up Lin by tearing down Dragic. This year's Suns team is reminiscent of last year's Rockets... what Gogi and the rest of those guys were able to do with no All-Star talent and their best player out for most of the year is extremely impressive. Extremely. There is a reason he is a mainstream media darling right now. The fact that Phoenix finished 9th with a better record than the Rockets had last year at 8th is just a testament to what a tough conference this is.

They will be a force if/when they're able to add a perennial All-Star (or either Gogi or Bledsoe make that leap). I get that a lot of people get very defensive where Dragic is concerned, but trying to diminish the season he and the just-a-bunch-of-decent-guys Suns were able to put together -- that is just silly.

for people crying for Dragic, Sun did not make to the playoff. Dragic seems enjoy the regular season only for all his NBA career.

    So Morey made right decision.
