If we survived losing Lowry, Scola who were here much longer than CP has been, then we'll survive losing Parsons.

We have seen the line-up turn over radically the past 3-4 years, younger Rockets fans need to get used to it too.

DM will only let him go IF he thinks he has a replacement.

do not fear. the power to match is still within DM's right.

if we get bosh, you can let him go and replace him with a cheaper MLE defensive SF. if we dont get bosh, we can match and bring back the same group from last year. maybe les agrees to keep him even after signing bosh and we are legit contenders.

who knows? but the power to decide is ours. that's the beauty of restricted free agency. had morey waited until next year, parsons would've signed that deal with dallas and would've been gone with no warning (like dragic).

Why don't we just wait for KD next free agency?

Rockets will start season with no SF on roster if bosh doesn't sign by Saturday and if they match quickly before bosh they are capped out. Lose lose situation  match and be capped out don't match and cap hold maxes u out before bosh signs.

That's the same group from last year minus Asik and probably Lin. Same cap space tied up except now instead of Asik+Lin+Parsons it will be just Parsons tying it up. That's a worse team than last year and you want to waste Dwight's and Howard's entire contracts (the next 3 years) with it. No, just no.

First of all, Parsons isn't worth 15+ mill per year. This is a classic case of Superstar-ridden free agency. Teams that strike out end up overpaying inferior players. Last time Lebron/Wade/Bosh/Melo were free agents, we ended up with gems like the contracts of Joe Johnson, Boozer, Amar'e and Rudy Gay.

The only reason for the Rockets to match this contract is if we land a superstar and then Les doesn't care about his money at all, so he goes 15mil over the cap and brings Parsons back. There's no way we're matching if we strike out on all big name free agents. That will screw us for the next 3 years.

This is just Cuban trying to throw together whatever sort of team he can for Dirk's twilight. I'm sure the allure of the added perk of screwing us over isn't lost on him either. Chandler just took advantage cause he wants all the money.

Either Cuban or Parsons is a b**** in this scenario, we'll never know, so feel free to be mad at whoever you want. Either Cuban offered the deal on the condition that Chandler would sign it right away (to screw us over), thus forcing him to accept it in order to get paid, or Parsons just didn't give a **** about the Rockets and signed right away without really needing to.

Anyway, this is bad for us, but at worst it means Parsons won't be here next year. Let's hope Lebron goes public with his return to Cleveland soon, so Bosh can sign with us and then we'll decide on Parsons. After pulling this ****, I'm not even sure if Morey/Les will be really eager to bring him back anyway.

Big deal, he's not a Rocket right now. As of now he's going to be a Maverick, the respectful thing on his patty to do odds to take down the Rockets information.

He doesn't know what team he'll be with in 3 days. He doesn't necessarily want to leave, but when you've been one of the lowest players in the league, you have to take your chance to cash in.

It is a business - folks here need to realize he will do what is right for himself, as he should.

And the team is doing what's best for itself by getting rid of his bromance partner in a few days...

I think most would agree with you. However taking pics with Cuban at midnight, in a bar/club just minutes after signing the contract is a b**** move. What if we match? Awkward!

I never thought Parsons was that good a player. He has his share of great moments, but there are times he simply disappeared (can't make a shot for his life). There are times he missed so many layups due to his semi-athletic skills. He's way overpaid imo. If you think Asik and Lin are overpaid, it's time to put Chandler Parsons in the same category imo.

Ariza, Deng and Pierce can be just as good and hopefully cheaper.
