I like his game but I don't see him being a star. I can see him eventually on an All D team though. He wasn't #4 coming out of High School though. He was #19.
He has a unique skill set and proved to be hard worker I'd love to say sky is the limit but it's more all star might be the limit Love to see him in a Dirk lite role
Took a young woman to the game last night. She was really impressed with Chandler He definitely has star potential!

No Way He Can Be Better than Battier. Battier is the Top Defensive Player to Play The Game. Im Not saying Parsons Isnt like Battier Because he does have some skill sets of becoming Closer To being Compared to Battier.Battier Is more defensive.
That ranking for anyone whose wondering is from Rivals, the 2007 High School class. For the sake of comparison, here's rest of Chandler Parson rankings of that year from other ranking agency's: Hoop Scoop - #26 Hoopmasters - #34 Scout.com - #32 Prep Stars - #65 / #54 All Star Report - #44 RSCI - #40 Side note: James Harden, Patrick Patterson and Cole Aldrich were in the same class. James Harden (Drafted#3-2009) and Patrick Patterson(Drafted #14-2010) had higher rankings across the board. Cole Aldrich (Drafted #11-2010) had similar rankings to Parsons.
He has far more talent than Battier, who was over rated on this board. Battier would never have been able to have a big impact on a rebuilding team. Parsons is young, he can become a much better overall player than Shane.
Defense is valuable, but basketball is played on both ends of the court. Shane needs stars to shine.Chandler may never be an all-star but if he keeps on improving, his impact will be a lot more than Battier. Micheal Jordan, Gary Payton, Ben Wallace, and our great Hakeem were much better at defense than Battier.
A star is an alpha dog, Parsons is not star potential, but he can be a very good third option on a contending team, and that's saying a lot.
Seems likely so we get Harden, Star 4 to be Named Later, and Parsons as our top 3. Be nice if Lin can get his shot together and round out a quality lineup with Asik.
sorry optimists, but Parsons is not that great offensively or defensively. he's a mediocre player picked in the 2nd round to fulfill a role.. its like people who think Chase Budinger is an All-Star... it's ridiculous. when a team is a bad anyone that shines is all of the sudden an "all-star" or has the potential to be a leader or whatever. Carl Landry is better than Parsons..not an allstar. Brooks was better--not an allstar. Lowry is better--not an allstar... the list goes on. get off Parson's "babe-a-licious" nutsack and accept the fact that he's as expendable as anyone on our team other than Harden and Lin. Christ..
My suggestion for you is to watch an occasional basketball game prior to posting. If you think Parsons is only mediocre on defense then you are clearly have not watched a game. To imply that being picked in the second round or even late in the 1st round precludes a player from playing at an all star level is also ignorant. Parsons is not an all-star and he may never make an all-star team but that does not mean he will never play at an all star level. Christ...
Second round picks who ended up being great players, just in the last 5-10 years or so. There are plenty more, but these are just some notables: Gil Arenas Carlos Boozer Monta Ellis Marc Gasol Marcin Gortat Paul Millsap Luis Scola
