Don't let Bull hear that, we might hear it everygame. LOL. way better than Lee's "Rockets on his shorts"
Here is the audio. Fast forward to the 17:10 mark. http://www.foxsportsradio.com/playe...ram_id=Jay_Mohr_Sports_Hours.xml&mid=22942901
Parsons numbers over his last 10 games: 18.7 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 4.2 APG Last 4 games: 24.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 3.0 APG, 65% FG, 57% 3PT
So there's talk about Kawhi Leonard being possibly a superstar. But I really dont see it. Parsons has respectable numbers in comparison as well, but we never hear anything about him being a superstar.
Currently at 38.6 (3P%)[right behind Delfino]. Imagine someone last year saying he'd be hovering around 40% from 3! Kid's work ethic is insane, Kobe wasn't lying when he said he had a bright future.
Leonard is 21 years old three years younger then Parsons, and is at least a top 10 defender league and averages 11 points a game, and takes half the shots Parson does while being the fourth option on the team.
Parsons needs to be more consistent. Stats won't get it done. More practice will help. Adelman correctly pointed out that Shane should have practised more then he did.
Good article on Chandler Parsons http://www.thedreamshake.com/2013/3/6/4072362/another-look-at-houston-rockets-chandler-parsons Please lock if posted
I like how this article goes over how a player performed when being guarded by Chandler. Is there a data base where we can get even more insight like this but in a larger scale?
http://www.nba.com/advancedstats/ This might be helpful...go to player Vs player, change player on each side...etc
Basically, that's Ryan Bowen/Shane Battier type of role and production. Until he can show that his game can expand further, that is always a question mark. Players don't always get better with more duties. See Trevor Ariza.
Top 10 defender in the NBA is pushing it, he isn't even the best defender on his team. There is a reason he is a 4th option on the Spurs, we cannot assume he will be as efficient or productive with increased usage. He may become an all star, but he has a ways to go yet. Last Parsons does not have twice the field goal attempts Leonard does, and Parsons is being asked to do a whole lot more.
Kawhi would be a better fit next to Harden. Parsons needs to have his offensive responsibilities and output reduced a bit so he can focus more on defending because right now he's more often than not a liability. If he can keep his production and improve his defense so that he's at least not a negative than I'd fall in love with him. But until then his numbers are superfluous as long as he's a revolving door.
Saying his defense isnt what it was last year because hes being asked to do more offensively is one thing but saying he is a liability is something entirely different.
