Hey guys, I'm 23 and have watched the Rockets pretty religiously since the early 2000's. I was trying to compare Parson's game to my buddy and his dad who are die-hard Cavs fans. Me and my friend could really only come up with Luol Deng as a good comparison (I see Deng as better defensively, CP better offensively, though it could just be our system vs. Chicagos). However, his dad is more knowledgeable about older generations more than so todays players. So--could any of you geezers (err...wise elders) compare CP to players from other generations? Even players from our generation (other than Deng)
It has to be a white guy. Cross-race comparisons are invalid. Therefore, a rich man's Mike Dunleavy aka Gordon Hayward.
I think that's a pretty good comparison. Parsons is a better playmaker, little better at driving. Deng is better at D, but parsons has similar physical tools. They have similar body types and athleticism
Would you take Wesley Matthews or Chandler Parsons at 8 million a year? Hell throw Batum in that mix also.
I hope Parsons can be that good. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/UDyBSTQDwH8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Detlef Schrempf was a dead-eye dick from long range. I don't have anywhere near that kind of faith in Parson's shooting, although when parsons is hot he can shoot. I also don't see any resemblance in any other player mentioned, half don't even play the same position lol Gordon Heyward is like a straight CP on and off the court. I can't think of any white SF from the past that resembles parson's.
