How the hell did this thread blow up? This is about a 2nd rounder poor-man-Steve-Novak who won't even make the team when the season starts end of next year.
Its just another OHMSS Euroleague Vs NBA thread unfortunately. -But no, Chandler did alot of good things in college and dropped out of the 1st round only because of a couple drills at the draft combine where he didnt look very enthusiastic and word got around. He hasnt completely set Europe on fire over there, but he has all the talent to be a real solid NBA player in the future. As long as DD doesn't jinx him he should do just fine in the NBA
what does this discussion have to do with Chandler Parsons? did I not post to stick to Parsons news and take the other crap to the appropriate thread? Since some of you dont seem to understand the concept of keeping threads on-topic, I helped you out by moving all those Euro vs NBA posts to their own thread in the International forum...and every time I see OHMSS starting that discussion in this forum, I will move those posts also. for the record....don't take Ohmss for some euro expert....he lives in rural Arkansas for Pete's sake.....he sees no more than any of you can. At least the thread starter actually lives in France.
Interesting to hear people say Parsons has no chance to make the team. He picked up the new offense quite quickly in that short time frame between the draft and lockout. He would have been in the rotation before the other rookies.
sorry to deviate, it's just the stupid things he said that he shocked me he lives in Arkansas, all is explained
Chandler Parsons 25:00 14pts 5/9 55.6 2/3 66.7 2/4 50 1 10 11 1 1 5 ast 0 1 4 24 rank Good game for Parson 10/22/11

He must force himself to be a leader, it is against his nature when he takes things in hand in attack, it shows positive action, it often simply being a good teammate, he could do so much better strong enough in 1vs1 (Enjoy the advantage of size for the position SF), a vision of outstanding play, good rebounder Chandler needs to be more selfish
Yeah, he said via twitter a week ago that his contract was up this upcoming week and will go to Florida to train ( I assume at University of Florida, maybe with KMartin's trainer). Rdp49's view of Parsons play with Cholet seems to be exactly the same as it was coming out of Florida. He leaves you wanting more because he has the capabilities to be one of the best offensive players on the floor, but plays almost too unselfish because his teamates, to this point, haven't been good enough to justify. He is an unselfish playmaker, who mostly tries to create shots for others. In the NBA though, he wont have the ball in his hands as much and will be put in a situation where he isn't the main playmaker on the floor. Im very interested to see how he does over here with a good point guard like Lowry in the mix, and good shooters surrounding him. This guy can score when he has to and wont be a liability if left open. If the Rockets run alot of the same corner sets where a big comes out to be the main passer/distributor, I could see Parsons relishing in that role out on the high post. Like a skinny Brad Miller with athleticism. The good news is I dont see him making alot of the mental mistakes that a normal rookie would, and blow plays. On defense, in time he should be able to guard 4's in situations. Right now pretty much all decent 3's and most 4's will eat his lunch, but thats pretty much the story with every rookie.
Chandler Parsons has left Cholet. While there he Averaged 10pts, 6rebs, 4Ast and 2.3 stls per game. Not bad stats for 25 mins/game. Does anyone have any information on why he left at this odd period of time? The NBA just stated the month of November is cancelled.
He was only on a non-guaranteed tryout contract with Cholet. The same as DeJuan Blair, who was released from his team in Russia. They were signed to contracts that are basically the same thing as a non-guaranteed contract in the NBA. Where the team has up until a certain date to either renew your contract and keep you, and then owe you a guaranteed amount of money, or just release you. In the case of Blair and Chandler their contracts were not renewed past the stage where they would have been owed more money. Instead, they would be replaced by other players. Basically the same way that NBA teams replace guys that come in to training camp on non-guaranteed contracts that become guaranteed for more money if the team does not let them go by a certain date.
I'm hearing the lockout will end by next week so maybe these guys are hearing that as well and are coming home to get ready.
Either ending this week or the players will decertify. If they decertify the season is gone. The federal court rulings typically take more than a few months to process claims like this. Better cross your fingers on this weekend to mid next week.
