Chandler Parsons is the reason the offense was so much better last year...

Amazing how quick people are to religate Parson to trash contributor. He was vutal to the team. And he played a huge role in the success of the team, which had home field advantage over the Blazers.

It is yet to be determined if Parson can be the third all star level player on a team he plays for. But Morey determined the risk was too great that Parson would be more than a solid NBA starter. And NBA starters which aren't all stars go for about 8 million a season, not 16......

Most of the same people praising Ariza this year were lauding Parson last year. And Ariza of last year was having a superior performance than he is having now.

Parson went for the money. And he is performing at the same level he was last year. Good for him....

Much rather Ariza defense over Parsons offense. Plus Terry > Lin.

we lost to the Blazers in 6, partially because for the most part Parsons struggled mightily with his offense... and didn't play very good defense.

    do not care.

I disagree, injuries and new players are the reason the offense is not as good as last yr. I think we Will look better once we start clicking. But even if we did drop off a bit in offense it won't be much and our improvement in defense should be way more.

When we get Dragic this will be moot!

parsons was simply not worth the money. I don't care how you put it, its a better deal having Ariza over parsons. He's still inconsistent. and the weakness in that position ins't nearly as bad as our need for a back up center or consistent 4 man

If we get Dragic, most teams that play the Rockets will be "moot." The current Rockets with Dragic would be a "killer" team. However, who do we have to give up to get him? That is the key.

I think Dmo is starting to provide a lot of the intangibles Parsons gave us offensively, which is being really good without the ball. He's clearly not the slasher or shooter Parsons was but the intangibles and playmaking abilities are there.

We did give up our two of our most efficient players in TS% in parsons and Jeremy Lin but they were also two of our worst defenders.

this team is about on par with last year. We lost alot on offense but we gained alot on defense. All in all we ain't going no where especially with milkhair extended.

I would still rather have Ariza over Parsons by himself. That's not even talking about the awesome way Brewer is playing for us.

Interesting night for this discussion. Parson was 2/11 and finished with 5 points, 3 boards, 2 assists and 2 steals in 37 minutes against Brooklyn.

What you are witnessing is the Mchale patented winter meltdown. We will be fine after all star break.

It only hurts us when Ariza is shooting miserably, which I don't expect to continue the entire season.

Defense wins in the playoffs since it's way more reliable than offense. Notice this year we've been winning games despite struggling once again from three. Last year we would die by the three. This year, our defense is preventing us from dying by the three, and it will pay off in the playoffs.
