Do you guys know if Chandler Parsons and other guests on First Take get paid to make an appearance???
As long as he can keep it up and continue to Improve, I'm completely fine with it. Although I must say while he has been getting much attention and making many appearances, a lot of the guys are keeping it pretty low-key. I just hope Chandler's still training hard everyday and practicing. I would hate to have him have some kind of slump next year after putting himself on the map this summer and putting expectations on himself to be the "third guy." But yeah I'm happy he's increasing his exposure and marketability. He's also increasing national media attention for the Rockets, so that's also good
Couldn't agree more. Also , basketball doesn't last forever so it's very important to build your brand/ contacts/ network for life after basketball. Smart move
Wasn't he in LA all week this week? Meanwhile, the Rockets are the hot story in the NBA... Just be glad the Rockets are getting lots of air time from the national sports media for a change...
The most popular players on this team are Lin and Howard. No one else comes close. Parsons is just famous by association. It's like being the close friend of a celebrity (you're not famous but people recognize you anyways because you're around someone who is).
Parsons is very popular with the ladies. more than Lin and Harden. Parsons gets women wet. To say its not even close is absurd and reeks of LOFaggotry.
With who? Harden and Parsons are far more popular with Rockets fans and I know Harden is more popular with fans who actually like basketball and aren't cheering for someone because of their ethnicity
Sorry, but this thread annoyed me. Why say something like that about Parsons? Dude is a good guy, one that can be a great player for us, is respected and he's just taking advantage of what's being given him. I'm pretty sure he didn't go out there looking for that stuff. Companies sought him because he's a relatively good player and he's good looking. Its his life and he's been nothing but loyal to our team, nor did we ever hear him publicly complain about his contract.
wow Parson hitting it big time, hanging with Mr. Belding <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Hanging out in @sbescape and look who I run into! <a href="http://t.co/O6pWOrgFM2" title="http://twitter.com/ChandlerParsons/status/357278434218627072/photo/1">pic.twitter.com/O6pWOrgFM2</a></p>— Chandler Parsons (@ChandlerParsons) <a href="https://twitter.com/ChandlerParsons/status/357278434218627072" data-datetime="2013-07-16T23:19:51+00:00">July 16, 2013</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
new agent using his looks and personality to increase his celebrity so he can start getting some endorsements. more money for agent and chandler. i don't see why that would get in the way of his basketball career. chris paul had a huge role is CBA negotiations, filmed a million commercials for state farm, and still managed to be a good player
This is basically a lock. I'm totally comfortable with him getting a Nic Batum style deal cause hes earned it. But as far as the OP.. cmon. hes on a pittance compared to other nba players, its not that hard to juggle. Baller by day, master of the universe by night.
He's chasing the fame.... as he should. Besides, his Rockets contract means he's gotta look elsewhere for the money he deserves.
If Parsons wasn't an NBA player he would probably be a model somewhere. The guy is making a name for himself, considering where he started I'm absolutely fine with it. 2nd round guy picked in the 30s, looked over by most people even on clutchfans (the draft combine thread back then was called Marcus Morris and that other white guy or something along those lines). In fact, People were upset that Parsons was getting way more minutes than Mook. Parsons has come very far since then, and so far everything he has done has benefited this team so I have tremendous respect for the guy.
advertisement.... brand marketing... Lebron and others get more money from there. Admitting that, he has a long way to go in that fame direction as well but China helps. He could start signing with Peak, LiNing, ....
