If McGrady has the surgery, he is done as a Rocket. Doesn't microfracture have a 12-month recovery period? If so, that would put his return at next February at the soonest and he will be a shell of his former self (like he is now). His real return would be for the 2010/11 season.

The only way McGrady plays another game as a Rocket is by avoiding microfracture. I think this is why Morey and the Rockets are in no rush. For all the Rockets care, McGrady can wait until the summer for surgery.

The problem is that Morey and the organization are holding out hope, while it is better for the rest of the team to move on and have closure.

Let the TMac era officially end here as it did in Orlando.......

Let TMac have the surgery. Why beg him to play again? Have we had enough? Let's say he plays 5 more games, then miss a dunk again, I am pretty sure he will want to have the surgery again. Why do we always have to treat him as a teenage girl?

He wont have that surgey nor will he come back this season, there's now way he comes back, he's made a joke of himself and he knows it.

But he might be back next year, hopefully everything is fine by then.

I agree. I also think the Rockets are holding out hope that the doc in Chicago who performs procedures alternative to microfracture will convince him to get the surgery done over the summer or something to that effect.

It's interesting that as much as the fans have turned on McGrady, the Rockets brass has given no such indication of dislike. If they were completely done with him, I think they would have told him to go ahead with the surgery, and then they'd just plan on trading him next season.

If McGrady does hold out and chooses not to take the surgery. You'll only get fans saying he did call the surgery in the first place so he won't get traded.

It's interesting to see how things will play out, and how McGrady will get out of this, assuming he does, and assuming the fans are reasonable enough.

Every Rocket fan should be hoping Tracy DOES NOT get the surgery, no matter how much you may hate him. If he gets the surgery, he is done, and is a contract that will basically crush the Rockets this and probably most of next season. If he can put off surgery, at least there is a chance that he may regain his 07-08 form.

I'm just Done with Tracy. Team team is Done. The Org. may not be but after everything he's put this team through I wouldn't be surprised if the team chose to do the Playoffs without him. Even If he was miraculously healed he has burned those bridges and is no longer a part of this team.

So Tmac doesn't even need microfracture. It is obvious he has quit no matter what the doctors say. That's pretty pathetic when a guy would rather get career ending surgery than get his mind right to go out and earn his pay check.

    Don't bring this fool back.

That's not what they said. Morey said one of the top doctors in the world (New York) suggested he get the surgery. So one doctor agrees he does need it. He's going to another today that might offer and alternative surgery. Let's see how that plays out.

Got to do it within the perameters, but I am sure there is some leeway.

he has played well and played pretty hard for us over the past 4 seasons, battling a ton of injuries. please at least appreciate some of what he's done.

he sucked this year though for sure.

shouldn't that dunk be a telling sign of what's going on in your game? no 6'8 with long arms like tracy should be blocked by the rim.

again, he should just sit out this year. hes not helping the rockets playing injured.
