In terms of leading by example and carrying a team, yes he is a good leader. I know this is always brought up, but look at what he did without Yao last year for 32 games...21-11 record, and he averaged 29PPG on 45% shooting in that span.

has anyone put him on blast like the orlando GM did? are we the worst team in the L that endured a 19 game losing streak?

2 different situations. i don't know how you can correlate the two. tmac was not even injured when he sat down the last 15 games in his last yr in orlando. he's legitimately injured here.

did you read what the wrote after that? He says a strained rear knee tendon can be played through, as well. in the last 5 minutes. When everyone else is warmed up. Do I need to further point out the stupidity of this guys comments.

hey guys do your research on this injury. marvin harrison had the same injury this year and was out half the season which was about 10 weeks and even after that it was said that he was rushed back and couldn't finish the playoff game over the weekend.

The Indianapolis Colts' pathetic handling of the knee injury to wide receiver Marvin Harrison is a big part of the reason their season is over.

When Harrison first hurt the knee, ESPN's Ed Werder reported -- correctly -- that it was a serious injury that threatened Harrison's injury. The Colts responded by saying Werder didn't know what he was talking about.
And then came the end of the game, when Harrison couldn't play on the injured knee, even when Reggie Wayne got hurt before the final play. Harrison said this after the game:

"I did what I can do. That's the bottom line," Harrison said. "It was a coaching decision. I don't know how it came down, but at that point in the game we were better off probably without me out there."

It's not Harrison's fault that he was hurt. But it is the Colts' fault that they put him on the field yesterday while he was hurt. He had no business being out there.

I know you guys think tmac could push it a little harder but after reading stories on marvin harrison i really do understand him more. now granted tmac has brought a lot of this on his self this time he may be actually hurt just give him one last chance before we go off and judge him

This is an injury that totally relies on how he feels that certain day, and from what I understand it is a lingering injury with varying recovery times.

If he feels well, he will play. If he doesn't, he won't. That is basically what it comes down to, not if he plays on it will he be reinjured (although I think we found that answer out a few weeks ago).

He may have played well during that stretch but I defintely wouldn't call him a good leader. In fact I think he is a terrible leader even by example. He cries and whines and pouts too much to be a leader by example or any other form of the term leadership.

the doctors took a while to find the tendon sprain. we need to go to a knee specialist. the doctors hired by the team have been more disappointing than the team. keith jones has looked like an idiot many times this year regarding tmac's knee problems.

I agree, but the fact that he has that in his history calls the injury into question.

Even if he's not trying to avoid the questions it looks like he is. Is he trying to force a trade?

I don't need some newbie accusing me of not knowing about Tmac's popteal problem which the special MRI thingamajiggy later revealed okay.

You wanna get into semantics over sore and strained fine. Strained does not entail torn or popped. Ergo, there is no structural damage.

as you may have noticed, a lot of guys do not do research or want to find FACTS.

they think they can read heart, look into tmac's soul, and understand what he's really thinking. they think he wants to quit, get traded, or just get his paycheck.

u should already know that. u can't compare tmac to marvin. tmac is a quitter

He performs at an elite level every single year...at the very least he is a good leader by example. People want him to get the other aspects of good leadership down, but I consider him a good leader for the sole fact that he is one of the VERY few players that can carry a team and do what he can on a nightly basis.

And what are your medical qualifications for making this assessment? Obviously you're quite comfortable with talking out of your ass since you can hide behind your computer screen and presumably not be accountable for your words.

T-Mac wanted to pull out of All-Star games in the past cause he was afraid his soft as hell butt would be safe from gun toting hooligans in Las Vegas and New Orleans. Get a life T-Mac!

At this point he's been out long enough that the Chronicle's sports writers should go track down some outside opinions.

If it's such a problem he can sit in the lockerroom (where he loves to kick it anyways) and ride the stationary bike to keep himself warm, fresh, and feeling like twenty million bucks. Hell, Rodman used to ride the bike just off the court in the fairway to the entrance - maybe we can park Senator Mac over there for the first 3 quarters. Ya know what, his being there might actually even help improve the blasted depth perception problem while his teammates are on the court shooting ;)
