We had someone from Europe tell us that this was because of the system he played in. One in which the coach gave similar minutes to a lot of different players. He averaged about 12.6 pts/game but only averaged 24 mins/game. Bump that up to about 36 mins/game and he'd have about a 19 pts/game average. Yeah, I know you can't do that, but I'm just making the point he did what he did in limited minutes. His rebounds similarly would go up to about 8 per game.

To be noted in all this is the fact that there are several teams that are scouting this guy and going bananas over him, so they all can't be wrong.

    More risings/fallings... from <a href="http://www.chicagosports.com/bulls/content/story/0,1984,153308,00.html">Sam Smith's Chicago Tribune NBA Report</a>

The last predraft camp is this week. It's in Chicago, and mostly for players trying to crack the first round. The top players in the June 27 draft will be here for physical exams and private workouts.

The latest draft grapevine says there is increased interest in two athletic collegians, forward Rodney White of Charlotte and guard Jason Richardson of Michigan State. High school center DeSagana Diop, who hasn't worked out because of injury, is said to be falling, perhaps to the end of the lottery.

But watch out, Bulls fans. Moving up in scouts' minds is 7-foot-1-inch Spaniard Pao Gasol, described as a cross between Toni Kukoc and Dirk Nowitzki, and the Bulls are in the market for an offensive small forward.

Agreed about the minutes. But the one thing to keep in mind is a point I made earlier... you cannot believe one word uttered by an NBA GM about prospects in advance of the draft. As a matter of fact, they are always either pumping up someone they don't like, or tearing down someone they do. I don't want to make anyone sad here... but they LIE.

    Clutch,

Interesting tidbit about the Bulls' being interested in Gasol. You never know, Krause is so unpredictable and doesn't "K.I.S.S." enough (Keep It Simple Stupid) that Gasol may be off the board by #4.

So, if Brown doesn't go top 3, he could be available at #7. Didn't somebody say something about the Rocks' talking to NJ?! [IMG] !!!

I think after everything shakes out, Gasol will end up going either 4th or 5th overall. I dont think Gasol's move up will affect Kwame Brown, though. I really feel that this Battier to Atlanta talk is a smokescreen more than anything and that when it comes down to it, they wouldnt pass on Griffin or Brown. The top 3 are Curry, Brown and Griffin in some order and then Battier and Gasol should fill out the 4 and 5 spots in some fashion. I think Boston is trying and will continue to try to move up into the 4 or 5 position to draft Gasol.

I was curious to see what was Dirk’s averaged in Europe the year he was drafted compare to Gasol's averaged. I understand it’s a different league but for what it is worth.

    Pau Gasol 12.6pts/game
    Dirk Nowitzki 30.0pts/game
