Quick question...I had a Motorola Razr on T-Mobile. It recently got water damage (yes, in a toilet) and it doesn't work. I'm using my old phone, a Nokia 6102i that I had when my family was using Cingular. It's unlocked and I put my current sim card in it. Anyways, since everything on the Nokia is Cingular, such as the media mall, does that mean I can't access it under any circumstance? It says I'm missing GPRS and the network is unavailable. So I have to settle for the crap ring tones? I miss my Razr.
You're wrong. They are not dumb. I love me some ring tones. I have separate ones for everyone I know. It's just one of my girly "things" I guess. Thanks for answering my question though.
finally...i can contribute to this board! like you said, though your phone is locked, since it was originally branded to cingular, of course the cingular settings are already there. you can change most of your settings 2 ways: 1) (the easiest) call T-Mobile customer care and ask them to have your WAP and MMS settings sent over to you. you can simply tell them the model of your phone. if it's not a popular phone and part of their list, just ask to speak with advanced tech support and have them give you the settings that way. 2) (the manual way) google up "T-Mobile [phone type and model] wap settings" and you should find places where they tell you how to manually configure your phone so you can browse the web, t-zones, etc. good luck!
