I like Clint, glad we have him and I'm not part of the contingency looking to trade him... but he aint an all-star.... too much of his game is predicated on being fed easy alley oops... not much he can do on his own... but he's good at what we need him for...
All my Rockets are All-Stars, I'm voting for him and that German guy. I'm also voting for the Rockets dance ladies for something. Seriously, Capela needs to do this Night in and Night out. I think Drexler will agree on that. Like Chuckster said to Embid, you need to show it all the time. One thing for sure about Capela, he ain't taking 3 pointer lessons anytime soon.
The center position is weak AF CC could probably count as an all star center in the west. Who is he up against? Kevon Looney? Thats partly why all star team did away with positions and just have front court and backcourt now.
I don’t know if clint is an allstar there’s to many really good bigs in the west. but on a team with Harden the only bigs I’d take over him Forsure are AD and KAT. embiid joker are better players but with hardens skill set u need a big that can fly up and down the court protect the rim and catch the lob. The defensive metrics say Clint and Gobert are pretty close and I think clint is a better rebounder and lob threat not to mention he’s more athletic. Gobert is a better rim protector, he’s the best in the the game imo. Clint’s great with harden and that’s what matters. uniess we’re getting AD or KAT I wouldn’t trade clint and that’s weird to say because I think embiid and joker are much more skilled and better players but with harden you don’t need that from the center spot. imo AD is prob the perfect player to pair harden with in the entire nba it would be lethal to bad or won’t ever happen.
Sure he has some temporary bad stretches but to think the idiots think he is replaceable or interchangeable with the likes of a Noel or washed up DeAndre Jordan is amazingly stupid.
To be able to become a perennial Allstar he has to play like Harden, create for others and for himself. To be able to ride JH's coat tails to 1 or 2 Allstar games, this version might be enough. Chris Paul made DA Jordan one that was not a legit one.
If he continues to put up 30/14s, while shooting 75 percent FTs, he'll be an All-Star. And he'll deserve it. That he was motivated in the Philly game because he 'wanted to show out' for Embiid and others is troubling. Damn it, show out in every game then, if you can choose to do it because you're the highlighted game on ESPN. He won't be a star unless he can show that he can do this in the playoffs. I like the trend though.
