I'm hoping it was the magic asking for Martin when Houston called about gortat...

Sad that he almost had a legitimate shot being on a contender?

I don't see why people don't see this for what it is.

Why would Magic want Martin after they have been complaining about defense all season.

My guess it Rockets asked for Gortat, Orlando asked for Martin, Rockets probably wanted something else valuable (VC and his expiring contract? A pick?) along with Gortat, and eventually they couldn't fine a deal that makes sense (or at least makes more sense than the PHX deal does).

It's been clear for a while now that Orlando is after a high-volume wing-scorer. Had hoped VC would be that guy, but he isn't. So, it's natural they'd look to guys like Martin or J. Rich.

Martin is an ideal player if you put him next to a go to player. Like a Wade, Kobe, Durant, Nowitski, Carmelo, etc. He can score just as much as those guys without dominating the ball. He just needs a player like that with him to open up his looks.

Martin needs to stay Brooks and expirings need to go for a superstar...

Ask yourselves this: Is Martin really that much better than J-Rich?

Stan Van would rip Martin a new one for his inability to stop a chair on defense.

I would've done the trade. Martin's too one dimensional to win a title with.

We have too many wings, and we have younger cheaper guys with more upside than KMart waiting in the wings.....

He has the most value right now, might as well trade him.

I think it says more about the flexibility they gained with the acquisition of Twill and lowry's current play and thinkign we can make the playoffs with an actual center...still surprised they'd give up Martin though.

No probably not, but maybe Ryan Anderson or maybe Brandon Bass and probably the 1st rd pick Phx got.

Martin is a fine player but he scorers...THAT'S IT...we need defense and Gortat, Anderson, Bass and a 1st would have been tempting.

It's not a coincidence that our defense became the worst in the league as soon as we traded for K-Mart.

Trade our best player for their backup center? I am sure it was not straight up but the only player on that team i would trade martin for would be Howard i know that's never happening.

Trade Martin to tank of course!

Williams starts at SG, this season.

Rockets try to hit the Harrison Barnes jackpot.(or minipot)

That still would be a crap trade. Bass when we have Scola? meh.

Anderson when we have Brad Miller who's playing good this yr...

Then that 1st rounder would've been a late 1st round pick. No thanks.
