And rumors have the Knicks going hard at Monroe in free agency too. A core of Melo, Monroe and Bledsoe may can get you to the playoffs in the East, but I sure wouldn't be excited in having my franchises future tied to those guys.

If Phil is smart he does this trade. He has to get a proven player to pair with melo they both have 4 yrs left on their contracts. They can also sign a big name FA... And still have hardaway & 13th for another borderline all star.

I KNOW you have to give something to get something, but I personally would not include Capella! I think that he will end up being our replacement for Howard in a couple of years. I would hate to see Donatas go, but not as much as I would hate to see Capella go! He's barely scratched the surface of his potential...

Knicks strategically leaked weeks ago that they are open to trading the #4 pick for good reasons. Like Boogie Cousins or Paul George type of reasons if some team randomly wanted to move their star player.

The Knicks, as buffoonish as they seem, are smart enough to NOT trade their 4th pick, and be ready to take the best available prospect over trading the pick for whatever the best player they can get is.

I really do like Bledsoe but he's in no way worth the 4th pick in the draft. Bledsoe and Melo alone do nothing to move the needle for that team. I think you will see the Knicks take Russell or Mudiay (I don't see them taking Porzingas for some reason), and use their cap space to sign someone like Greg Monroe, and maybe a MLE type of player & one year deals. Hell if they get a good deal out of a Monroe signing (under 13 mil per i'd say), they could still have another 12 to 15 million to play with in free agency. Try to make a run at Matthews or Afflalo.

At least 4 of your 5 starters at that point are interesting. Trading that 4th pick only really makes sense if there is a true game changer that randomly appears out of the blue.... and that's not happening.
