Miami should trade Chris Bosh for him.

    Brooks+Jeffries+Andersen+Hill+Budinger+2012+first rounder for Paul.

I put this in the NBA Dish since Paul's list supposedly is the Magic, Knicks and Lakers. But if you're the Hornets, certainly you have no incentive to limit yourself to those three teams. It's not like Paul has any leverage to leave for nothing, ala Bosh.

And if you're the Rockets, it's not like you'd only be acquiring a Carlos Beltran half-year rental. You'd have two years guaranteed, and the potential to sell Paul on Houston in that timeframe. If you're as good as I think that roster would be, I think it's worth the risk even if Houston isn't on Paul's "list"...

Let's go for it! (even though I like Brooks more as a person)

Uh, say what? He declined comment on the management situation, and only said this:

How in the world do you read a ringing endorsement in saying he's working out to get ready for the season? Or that he watched summer league games? These are things that players would do, um, regardless of what team they were planning to play for.

Besides, Paul is under contract for two years and would get MAJORLY fined and reprimanded if he went public with his demands. The article explains as much.

Anywhere but NY. Amare without a star PG is a lottery pick for the Rockets.

Read the quote. There's no buzzkill at all in that... if anything, it only feeds the fire because Paul turned down an easy scenario where he could have publically supported the team and expressed his commitment.

if Paul were to be traded draft picks and young prospects would be high on their list as well as cap relief

    I would probably propose this:

    Brooks
    Hill
    Jeffries
    Battier
Right to swap pick in 2011 w/ NY (so houston's first round pick)
    NY's pick in 2012

    for

    Chris Paul
    James Posey

    leaves us with:

    Paul/Lowry
    Martin/Taylor/Bud
    Ariza/Posey/Bud
    Scola/Patterson/Hayes
    Yao/Miller/Hayes

I just dont know if NO would bit on that right now expiring contracts are more valuable at the deadline since over 1/2 the player's contract is already paid for and they probably want to save money will getting young prospects and picks in return

At first I thought this trade offer was ridiculous, but 10 deep that team is STACKED

I don't think there's a single team out there that has the pieces to get this done more than the Rockets. We can offer them back a PG/SG that can either play with Collison or behind him (Brooks), and PF that can back up West (Hill/Patterson), and salary relief (Jeffries). If they are really insistent, we can offer them the NY picks, or even one of Ariza or Battier. This would be a deal that would rank higher to me than even acquiring Bosh.

Damn what if the Lakers offer Odom and Bynum for Paul + filler, if you were New Orleans would you do it?
