Duncan is better than Kobe. Duncan 3 FMVP to Kobe's 2, and the truth is that Duncan should have 4 FMVP because he did more in the 2007 Finals than Parker did.

Kobe has 1 clear FMVP. That was in 2009 against Orlando. Kobe was guarded by rookie Courtney Lee in that series. Some people felt Pau Gasol should have been the 2010 Finals MVP, particularly after Kobe's 6-of-24 outing in Game 7 against the Celtics.

Here are some notable Finals PER numbers. These are career Finals PER figures, combined for every single Finals game that the player has played in.

    Kobe Bryant

    Finals PER = 18.80

    Finals PER = 24.94

    Finals PER = 27.04

    Finals PER = 28.24

Kobe's Finals PER isn't close to Duncan, let alone Shaq and Jordan.

Kobe was a better Robin than Batman. He's not at the level of Duncan, Shaq or Jordan. I don't think anyone who isn't a Lakers fan misunderstands that.

One final thing on Kobe, and Jordan.

Next season, Kobe will pass Jordan on the all-time scoring list. This is supposed to be a big deal.

But it's not. It's more like Franco Harris passing Jim Brown on the all-time rushing yards list. Nobody thinks Franco Harris is better than Jim Brown, and similarly no one thinks -- or will think -- Kobe is better than Jordan.

    Career scoring average:
    -----------------------

    Jordan
    30.1 ppg

    Kobe
    25.5 ppg

    Career games
    -------------

    Jordan
    1072

    Kobe
1239 (will be around 1272 when passes MJ in scoring)

    Seasons
    --------

    Jordan -- 15
    Kobe -- 18 (next year)

So, you're talking about 3 more seasons and around 200 more games played just to match Jordan's scoring mark. Good longevity for Kobe, but no one is confusing Karl Malone with Jordan, either. And Karl Malone is second on the all-time scoring list.

If the Lakers rejected the Bledsoe and Jordan trade, they will not accept the Lin and Asik trade. They want to start clearing out their team to have enough salary cap for Lebron. Kupchak is a good GM, and this is his best bet.

They'd have enough salary cap space for LeBron even if they accept Griffin/Bledsoe or Lin/Asik. The question is the potential second max contract (and who the candidates are) vs. a deal this summer.

This is ....meh. I get what youre saying, but...

Asik gives you a much better bang for your buck and he is cap friendly.

LA has the largest asian market in the country.

Wasn't it Griffin-Bledsoe? Anyway, i really don't think the Lakers would cooperate if it makes the other LA team a super team. They would get burned for it.

The difference between Houston and LA Clippers, Houston can sign Dwight with or without a S&T. If Dwight chooses Houston, the Lakers can't do anything about it. If Dwight chooses the Clippers on the other hand, the ball would still be in the Lakers' hands.
