DM is management of Houston rockets! Sure make him a “guest “ representing rockets. As bully to follow their rule, isn’t that every nation does? Look, I don’t debate on free speech, I just point out common sense in business. I don’t see China has problems with your opinion that’s the key.

    Lol,

Where the hell you think you are at now?

State controlled Weibo? Or you think this is some Hupu sh’t that you can only allow one voice?

Since when you get to decide which topic is “the westerns are completely ignorant on”.

Considering all the political statements Tillman has made himself in the past, this is Grade A hypocritical.

For saying he supports freedom and independence over communism/socialism (watered down version of communism).

What the Chinese government is not saying is that they have used capitalistic aspects to surge to top of the financial
world....off the backs of their people.

People need to research and learn the history of socialism before pushing it here in America. If you still like
it then that’s on you. Just brings power to the politicians.

Sorry Clutch, if you must ban me I accept it, I stand with Morey on this. Go Rockets!!

"We're here to play basketball and not to offend anybody." -Tilman Fertitta

I rather stand up for what is right than avoid offending "anybody"...

Being German, it's incredibly sad to see these statements and the mindset of so many people.

If people haven't even learned from Nazi Germany, where vile propaganda lead to an entire nation not preventing the holocaust and just accepting what the government is doing, I guess nothing will ever stop this ****.

You see the exact same thing happening in places like China now and people writing "I'm sure these minorities must have done something evil, the government wouldn't treat them this way if they behaved like I do.", it's disgusting to see how folks would rather enjoy their status quo and sucking up to the government instead of preventing outright genocide.

And nowadays these guys even have the access to media if they really wanted it (vpn), but they would rather blindly follow their government as long as they aren't the ones sent to prison, execution or concentration camps.

Hey Kyle, tell us more about the democratic rights China has given the Uyghurs. You know, outside of the concentration camps and organ harvesting farms your government has enslaved them in.

I’m so ready for the Rockets and the NBA to hopefully cut ties with the Chinese government controlled basketball league. F them. Yes there will be money lost. Who cares though... the Warriors are nonstop in their expression of political views and they are just fine. I’m sick of this notion that the Rockets need Chinese support.

The NBA will still have major APAC support as will the Rockets. Sales will maybe even increase in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, etc.

Some things are bigger than money, and often when an organization takes a stand in the right direction, the market they appeal to more because of that decision, makes up for the losses of revenue by telling one market to shove it (See Nike and their stance on right wing gaslighting of kneeling), and new customers emerge because of that decision.

I was 100% fine with Tilman’s stance until the Chinese government decided to ban the Rockets from doing business in China unless they toe their party line. F that.

Since belligerant ignoramuses like yourself make all kinds of wild prejudiced assumptions and have no qualms about publicizing these assumptions. Say whatever you want, but there are appropriate venues to express your political opinions, and the GARM isn't it.

Yes, I have to suspect there is some conspiracies. Morey is not a naive political fanatic, he is a smart and sophisticated businessman. I am sure he didn't post that casually, he was very sure of the consequence for himself, for the organization and for NBA as a whole. I think either someone paid him a price that he can't reject; or he wanted to quit his NBA GM career and begin a career as a politician. There is no other way to explain why such a clever person would do such a dumb thing.

You know what, lets put aside the politics of it all for one second just to make a point. YOU ARE TRYING TO STRONG ARM US IN TO FIRING ONE OF THE BEST GMS IN THE LEAGUE OVER A TWEET. This is complete garbage. This is the definition of a temper tantrum.

Judging from the pro-Chinese responses to this event, they don’t actually understand why HK is protesting anymore than Westerners do.

Morey’s Twitter DOES NOT represent the Rockets, which seems to be something you and other communist sympathizers are having problems understanding.

the GARM shouldn’t be accessible to people that can’t freely express themselves. At least we agree on that.

yeah, they’re adapting by leaving your country and doing business in other parts of the world. The ones you get back are second string at best.

Sucks China is taking it this far but if that’s where they at they need to have that attitude towards the nba as a whole. Nobody is here to suck your D... get over it or move around.
