Some of yall (OP included) needs to take a reading comprehension class. This Amico guy clearly didn't have anything on the Melo trade. It's right there in the piece. Let's read together. Right off the bat, you should know he is pulling nothing out of his rear. A non-party-to-the-trade NBA manager thinks ... is this thread worthy??? Basically he texted a guy who doesn't know anything about what's going on. This is either a joke or completely made up. I call this BS writing ... Clearly not. Speculative BS about nothing. I don't know if we are getting Melo, but this piece doesn't tell you to draw the conclusion "It's not happening"
I know 2 things: 1.) Everything is classified as either "It's Happening" or "It's Not Happening". There is no grey area. 2.) When in doubt, moar Melo threads
It's kind of weird that the GM says that Cavs have the inside track. and at the same time says "they need to get busy" and "pick up the phone." How do you have the inside track if you're not doing anything?
Bron made certain promises to Love when Love re-upped there. He can't simply ship Love out without losing his credibility among the players. It would have to be an agreed-to deal with Love. Love would have to want to go to said destination.
That's kinda funny since Melo has a no trade clause, and if he doesn't want to go to CLE over HOU than he doesn't have to.
He'd gladly go to either CLE or HOU. You really think he's gonna veto a trade to play with his butt buddy Bron Bron?
A GM not involved in the negotiations in any way whatsoever says a team that he doesn't believe has even picked up the phone has the "inside track" to acquire a player. Not sure if I would vote for this or for Lowes "credit Houston if you want" for worst take of the offseason so far
If the rumors are true, a big if, then he will want to be in HOU with Harden and Paul. But we'll see. He isn't being forced to go to CLE, the article makes it sound like it's not his decision, he has the right to veto a trade.
He's not vetoing a trade to CLE. He's already said he'd waive his no-trade clause for either CLE or HOU. If a deal is on the table for him to go to CLE, he's gonna go.
Carmelo isn't the one making the deals, alleged GM, but he is the one who has to waive his no-trade clause, which gives him veto power.
