That GM sounds like an idiot. All it takes is a person to dial a phone and start throwing trades out there? That sounds like Mark Cuban to me.
Doesn't really sound like a GM. First he says Carmelo wants to go to Cleveland more and then says it doesn't matter what he wants: “I think (Cleveland is) where he wants to be most, because it’s a guaranteed trip to the Finals. Houston and New York aren’t.” “It doesn’t matter what Carmelo feels confident about, because he’s not the one making the deals,” the GM said. Then he talks trash about another front office: “He’s confident in a Knicks front office that can’t ever get out of its own way? OK.” But wait, I thought it was easy? “[Cavaliers] have people who are smart enough to dial a phone, right? You pick it up, you call the Knicks, and you start proposing trades. It’s not brain surgery." And now this sounds like Morey might be the one with the inside track, since he's smart and he's actually working at it, while Cleveland is perhaps not doing very much about it, seeing as they need to get busy: The GM also said he thinks Rockets GM Daryl Morey “is a smart guy and a hard worker,” and that the Cavs will “need to get busy” if they hope to get Anthony first. “Morey got (Chris) Paul and (James) Harden, he can figure out how to get Carmelo, too.”
It wasn't real when I posted this with link/article a couple days ago. But now it's definitely real and it's definitely happening.
The only way they could get Melo via trade is by dumping Love. If they were willing to dump Love, it would have happened by now because it's easy to get some team to take Love. Cavs will only get Melo through a buy-out.
Trading Love for Melo is a sideways move for Cleveland. And the Knicks. The Knicks want their cap space. That's why a trade with Houston and a third team is the likeliest scenario. There are also obligations to Love in this matter (from LeBron) that are a consideration here. It's complicated.
This damn article was posted 2 ****ing days ago and on the top of that its Amico. Amick is the reliable one ( who broke the Dwight to Houston).
A low iq GM who in the middle of fa and summer league has nothing better to do than send emojis to amico. Its imaginary or Jason Kidd.
(unpopular opinion) This GM's premise is right... Cleveland does have the upper hand.... IF: A. There is a buyout (if the Knicks can't get a deal that makes sense and get some salary relief in the buyout via stretch or whatever) B. They are willing to put Love on the table to the Knicks, or to a third team. So yeah they do have the upper hand in a couple ways. That doesn't mean that RIGHT NOW its the most likely scenario. There is also the chance that a third team facilitates a Love deal where not only are the Cavs getting Melo, but also get MORE assets in return from that third team or the Knicks to justify a lateral-type of move for a Love/Melo swap. I've seen ALOT of smoke that Melo to Houston is in the works, but Houston of all teams should be wary until this is signed on the dotted line. This is the team involved in the CP3/Gasol veto'ed trade, and the D-Mo/Pistons trade. Nothing is done until its done, and we don't EXACTLY know the intentions of 3rd teams involved in talks. ALOT of team are probably more than willing to poke their heads in and alter the course of the deal.
If they had a conversation via text then show me the text with the gms personal info blacked out otherwise it didn't happen.
