I love JVG as much as the next guy but I think he's just about done with his coaching skills.. He should just stick to commentating along with Hubie Brown...

JVG coddled and enabled Tracy McGrady. He's not really a "no-BS" coach. He's definitely a "no-BS" commentator when it comes to calling players out.

It's not all offense, the Knicks defense has taken step back ever since melo came on board. As good as he is offensively, he sucks defensively .

Lin performs better when he plays with Chandler, Fields, Jeffries, Novak and Shumpert…and a little Amar’e. There was a flow with that group on offense and defense. When Melo is on the floor, the movement dramatically drops.

It has been said that the 2nd unit routinely beats the 1st unit on the Knicks during practice. I would propose D’antoni do a little experiment. Create 2 teams…with Lin on the 2nd unit..Baron Davis with the starters. I bet the 2nd unit of mostly backups would beat the 1st unit.

And we see it in the most recent games. The 2nd unit comes in and increases the lead or gets close to regaining the lead. The 1st unit comes back and drop back further.

I thought Melo would benefit from Lin. I was wrong. I think the team is better without Melo…because they play as a team.

Scoring doesn’t win games. Melo scored 32 against the Bobcats in Jan, and they lost against the Bobcats. When Melo has a high scoring game, the Knicks lose. When Lin has a high scoring game they win. What’s wrong with this picture?

You low ball the Knicks with Scola an Martin and their pick back only.

Melo doesn't fit there but t doesn't mean he won't fit here. We need a go to player.

I rather have him suffer with the knicks so our draft picks can be more valuable. We need a player who doesn't point finger when the playing field gets tough like durant and yao. It's de ja vu all over again with tmac if we gut our team melo

I'd give anything and everything to get Melo.

    LOL.

Do you really still believe he's a franchise player after all of this?

Surely those of us who doubted have been proven right.

    He's a low level all-star, not a superstar.

Oh! Hell no!! Melo plays worse defense than KMart, Scola & Thabeast combined. Besides, Melo's staying in NY. Dolan gutted the team to get him. He's Dolan's "Boy"!

After watching the Rockets last night, I want no part of Melo!

How about Lowry, NYK #1, and Parsons for Melo? '09ers to make the salaries work. This gives them cheap, long term solutions at both the 1 and 3.

Yeah, but T-Mac played superstar basketball under JVG. Melo is playing mediocre chucker basketball under D'Antoni. If Melo is going 30+ppg at near 50% shooting, he can be as mediocre a defender all he wants and no one would say a thing.

In the end it's a give and take. You can't suck at both ends of the court.

I would give them Scola + Bud + Thabeet, then flip Melo to New Orleans for Kaman and Eric Gordon.

I've been saying for week's that NY is better off without Melo. And I'm still obsessed with this trade.

Knicks - Pau, Martin, Williams, Hill
    Rockets - Melo, Goudelock
Lakers - Amare, Shumpert, Flynn, knicks pick

    Everyone goes home happy.

They have their point guard in Lin.

More like Dalembert (Backup Big), Morris, Goran and their draft pick back for Melo.
