For all his flaws, Melo is clearly better right now. In a couple of years (maybe even next season), KD will pass him by.
Melo gets the nod for right now but it's probably a lot closer than it should be which just speaks volume to KD's ceiling as a player. The fact that a player like KD at 21 is arguably just as good as a superstar like Melo in his prime is very telling.
I will take Durant right now because I think that Durant has the will to win. Sometimes Melo's will to win is questionable, but you know Durant wants to win and will bring it every night.
really? durant is beating him in almost every statistical category. so no, it's not by far. the only thing against durant in this debate is experience, esp. in the big games/playoffs.
Lebron Kobe Carmelo Wade Durant can't really go wrong with any of them, except Durant is just a kid playing just as well with the rest.
On one hand its telling of Durant's talent that he is already so close to Carmelo's caliber. On the other hand its kind of sad that Carmelo hasn't taken it to the next level, it took Billups to arrive in Denver before Carmelo even started trying. So it seems.
durant is already better. he gives more effort on the defensive end. and his talent makes him more effective on that end as well....blocking more shots. offensively they're similar...
You can't really compare it like that... Durant has a bigger impact on his team because he has to do more on his team. Think of it like LeBron in Cleveland... they need Durant to do more to win. Meanwhile, Melo would be more like Kobe... he has talent around him in that Melo doesn't need to perform his best in order for them to win.... I think you really can't compare them stats-wise. Durant is a beast though.
Durant will be better than Lebron not alone Melo. Durant is far more talented than Lebron but Lebron is gifted with his athleticism, size, and power. If Lebron is in the same body as Durant, Lebron would be an all star caliber player.
Regular season? Probably Durant because containing him is trial and error. Playing him 2 or 3 times a season months apart doesn't really give you a good reference on how to guard him. Playoffs? Melo at this point only because of his strength. Durant is super tall with a silky smooth jump shot, but I think over the course over a 7 game series against a playoff team, I think Durant could be contained better than Melo. It certainly doesn't hurt that Melo plays with maybe the best playoff point guard in the game in Billups.
Melo is a better overall player and it´s hard to argue which offense is better, so Melo gets that title for now.
1. Lebron = Kobe = The Best 2. Melo = Tmac Prime = The more skilled but don't seem to have the heart 3. Durant = Paul Peirce = not as skilled asTMAC and Mello but give more effort Just my comparisons to the last Trio u pfor debate Rocket River for moments Peirce was better than Tmac. and I think Durant will overcome Melo
