    Especially since they are no where near contending...unless we say contending for a top draft pick...Hawks are basically are saying this is a throw away year, next year we will have a quality draft picks and Cap room

    I don’t understand how OKC keeps pulling off deals like this.

    So they get Schroeder for free basically? After they pay ATL a 1st to take on Melo’s buy-out? Is it just me or does everyone give OKC discounts?

    Scrhoder's value dropped because of attitude issues, he was arrested for misdemeanor battery and wasn't a great locker room presence. they were looking to get out from his contract and got a first rounder for it. It's a good deal for the Hawks.

    I have mixed feeling about this...Schroder is basically a younger Reggie Jackson so, a dick head/chucker, but still, OKC was forced to move Melo, while Atlanta was not forced to move Schroder, they got a 1st rounder, but it's a 2022 pick and its protected so...yeah, i just can't consider this a great trade for Atlanta.

    They're also the same managment that traded Doncic for Young (also got back the Mavs 1st rounder though) and literally gifted Brooklyn a 1st and a 2nd from Denver just to eat Lin's salary and what? A 2nd rounder? Ugh...

    Actually...Dennis is owed 15mil per year...but when considering the fact that regardless they would have had like a 9 mil dollar cap hit for stretching Melo, it breaks down to them actually paying about 5mil per year for Dennis...They basically decided that instead of lowering the tax penalty as much as possible, lets just save a decent amount and get some useful talent and return
