thumbs down. in theory this makes our team great, just like adding iverson, in theory, makes the nuggets great. not a viable, practical option unless tracy mcgrady is gone, and tracy > carmelo so no thanks. tracy AND carmelo = definitely not working.
Again, I live in Denver. No way. Plus, I doubt he's really available. I'd bet Iverson would go before Melo' would...He and fans believe he runs this city. Let's keep our eyes on the prize and go after Corey Maggette/Mike Miller/ Carlos Delfino/Gilbert/Jamison ....AND Cuttino Mobley. I'm serious. I think he's in the last year of his contract with the Clips. If we're looking for an offensive-minded player, and a dependable vet, he'd be a good fit here. Cod
There were a lot of nights when we didn't look like a team that could score consistantly. We need a weapon like Melo who can score consistantly. He's a born scorer. Unfortunately, he's also a born knuckhead. I would hate to have to root for Carmelo. I'd rather sign Maggette, and watch Brooks and Landry develop. PASS!
Is there a source to this!? Or maybe I missed it on ESPN or something. Anyway say no to Melo. While I would gladly have him for videogame purposes it just won't be happening on the court. Why break up the spectacular chemistry this team has!? Lets just add to it.
The only person I want from the Nuggets is Marcus Camby.. Marcus Camby is the interior defenderr/shot blocker/rebounder we are craving to get us to that next level... There is a reason why he is in the top 1,2,or3 every year in those categories.
I honestly don't know what's more baffling. The fact that everyone in this thread seems to think Denver wouldn't laugh Morey off the phone if he offered a package not including Yao, or the fact that you guys are actually debating whether or not the aforementioned preposterous scenario would actually be beneficial to the team. Wow.
denver does not want yao. it doesn't fit their style of play, which they have tried to develop for the past few yrs, just need some effort on defense. if they do get yao, they have to get rid of iverson, kenyon martin, and a ton of their players. and i don't think yao can play 82 games in the mile high altitude.
I can't deny that. I heard that George Karl doesn't even regularly attend the team practices. That's just disgusting.
Agreed. I hate Carmelo as much as anyone, but if he was added to the Rockets we'd be ridiculous. Talk about a legit third scoring option.
I don't agree with you all that often, but I'm with you on this one. I'm not a Melo fan at all, but even I recognize what he can bring and he would flourish under Adelman.
um, or on the flip side, how would he react when he is the 3rd option? he would quit the way he did in the playoffs would he? he's a first option type of player OFFENSIVELY, he just does nothing else. dude would never accept to be a 3rd option. he wants to be a superstar.
go for it as long as it doesnt cost tmac/yao melo would be second option behind yao. melo would be awesome in adelmans offense.
carmelo is one of the most overrated players in the game right now. all he can do is score. thats funny. good luck trying that in a video game let alone real life
lol @ ppl bashing melo on quitting? what did tmac do in orlando? lol Melo has a horrible coach in karl, AI is a ball hog, if the rockets can get melo w/o trading tmac or yao, you have to do the trade. He has much much talent and all he needs is a good coach.
