Signing this chump probably cost the Rockets the number 1 seed. Knew it was a waste of time at the time, and still can't believe we took that leap. Hell, no one has even looked his way this season - go to China Melo - you are done. DD
Rockets have one of the best records in the league since the end of the Melo saga I was told he was a “no-risk signing” that “raised our ceiling against Golden State” Lmfaoooooo
LOL, yup. I was told the same thing over and over again. No risk signing. Riiiigggghhht. The selfish prick did his damage in just a handful of games he played. That's how much of a Anti-Team player he is, and has been his whole career.
I hope I never have to experience something like the Melo overhype and delusion this past summer ever again there were people saying u don’t know ball if u think Melo won’t thrive here...and all the talk about him raising our ceiling against GS by abusing Curry and not going 0-12 like Ariza....my god, it was terrible
Using Carmelo as the scapegoat for the Rockets awful playing in the beginning of the season is dumb. The entire team played awful. Don't let revisionist history posters lie to you.
what a disaster. certain meloof's that are no longer around. kind of sucks. those were the ones who were so anxious to throw it in anyones face that had legit questions about him being on this team horrible fit from day 1
Yeah, and so was some of our foresight. He was a big part of the problem they were bending over backwards to try to get him shots, and it was a disaster. Melo is a cancer, was a cancer, and has always been a cancer - Just say no to Cancerelo. DD
It was a low risk bet that didn’t work out. We lost 1 position in rankings for a potentially better team. It’s exactly what most people thought it was going to be. The problem is posters that like being right don’t understand that the results don’t change whether the initial bet made sense or not.
and if it had worked Morey would be looking like a genius. nothing ventured, nothing gained. they gave it a shot, it didn't work, they cut their losses. Ultimately it cost the team very, very little.
So we are going to act like the rest of Morey's offseason signings weren't just as bad? Or that that the Rockets entire defensive schemes weren't awful? Sure Melo was a problem but solely blaming him for the entire team playing awful is dumb. Losing the defensive coach right before the season started really messed up the team. I'm glad Melo is gone but the team had no direction and Morey almost destroyed the team. If it wasn't for Harden on God mode, getting back Bzdelik, and Morey's discount redemption signing this team would be in the same level as the beginning on the season.
Agreed with this. When you had a roster of players like MCW / Chriss / injured Knight / Caboclo / Ennis, and some of those players getting significant playing time, you can't just blame Melo.
I remember arguing with people that mythical Olympic Melo was a load of ****. I wanted to be wrong, but unfortunately a few minority of us were right. By the way, I disagree with DD that Melo is the reason we aren't number 1. The reality is that Morey did a poor job of retooling the roster in the summer but he thankfully found replacement pieces during the season, very fortunate on House/Rivers/Faried/Clark.
