Dang tinman, you've made me so sad with all these memories and this comment you made. Thank you for bringing up these memories, Carl Landry will be missed as a Rocket.
IROC it said Landry never won a championship like Cassel didl, true. However in a short span of time with the Rockets and being an original Rocket, I think he became a fan favorite like Cassell. People in Houston like Carl Landry. Dude lost alot of teeth and even got shot trying to get some whataburger or ruchi's taqueria late at night for the city of Houston. Kinda reminds me of how Maxwell would like to go to whataburger or lubys. Just a regular dude. He always played hard, always played D, he's like an old school Rocket. he never cared that he played off the bench (Sam was a bench player), he never cared if played a ton of minutes or even 7 minutes.
Carl has the heart of a Champion. I'm so sad. This is worse than losing Cassell. I was devastated over that, I always hoped someday he would return. He never did.
Sad to see Landry go, but excited to have a player like Kevin Martin too. With trades for pieces you need, it seems someone always goes that was liked by the fans either a good deal or quite a bit. Landry was the epitome of a blue collar player that played with 100% heart every single night he wore Rocket Red and White. For that, I'm eternally grateful to have seen him play for us and wish him the best success whether he stays in Sacramento or goes elsewhere. Now let's get our bruiser at PF in the off-season and get this championship train back on track!
