DD gets his rep because he's the loud obnoxious bad guy who everybody loves. He's opinionated, and when you have so many arguments with people there's bound to be people that agree with you. Carl, aside from his gimmicky threads (which are great and adds flavor to the site) is the Yin to DD's Yang. When things get serious, Carl is there to lighten things up. He's given this site some personality. Along with that, good information. You say you could do the same thing he does, but whose to say he couldn't do the same things you do? That's just not fair. I appreciate you as a poster, you're a nice guy moes.

The gay jokes are lame and he can be quite a dumbass (e.g., in the D&D forum), but he makes such an effort in the GARM, trying to post news stories first, writing long cap analysis posts, etc. etc. that it is ok he got the rep points he worked so hard for. Plus, I usually agree with him on Rockets issues.
