btw, what would you call the your dad's third wife after he's passed away? ex-step-mom doesn't quite work. they married after we were grown so she never lived with us, plus, she's only a year older than i am and is a year younger than my older sister!
Interesting. I guess she's still a "stepmom". We had that situation in our family too... my dad would sometimes refer to her as his mother because it was the easiest way to explain things, especially after his biological mother passed away. On the other hand, she did help to raise him. Must be weird to have a stepmom your own age... guess your dad felt like he was doing pretty well for himself though.

Dad-worked for various food companies over the years (Sysco, Kraft, Alliant) either buying the food from the manufacturers for his company to sell to schools, restaurants, etc. or selling the food to schools, restaurants, etc. Had some interesting stories about having dinner at a Guatamalen drug lords' house (obviously had no idea who he was until there was a big bust in Miami, and the guy's label was plastered all over the crates that carried the drugs) and about one of his clients in Mexico that had been kidnapped on a regular basis because he was rich. He finally told his family not to pay the ransom the next time, they didn't, and he was killed. Who would have thought that it would be interesting? Well, as a kid it was because he'd get free tickets to all kinds of sporting events, so that was cool. Plus, we had that badass school pizza all the time at home! Mom-housewife, mostly. After my sisters graduated high school and she only had me to worry about, she drove a school bus and worked in our cafeteria at school. Made a bunch of money during this time buying those God-awful Guatamalen belts, purses, etc. for people whenever she went down there with my Dad.
