Hard to say. Oftentimes, the finance folks at the dealership get commission on the loan, so they would not necessarily be willing to deal on the interest rate.
Amount owed vs. value of car is certainly a factor in determining interest rates outside of a dealership. I have had personal experience with that.
The vehicle I'm looking at with the options I'm looking at cost about $34k at invoice. Is it insane to start negotiating with car dealerships at $29k pre-incentives? Everything I've read says to start negotiating at or a little above invoice because if you get a price between invoice and MSRP you get a good deal. I just don't want the dealership to think that I am not seriously considering buying a vehicle.
It's not insane bc it depends on the market and the car. Some makes aleays sell below invoice It might be a lot easier if you tell us the car you want. Again, negotiate and once they give you the best price ask them what price they would give you using the Costco card. I just have a feeling that discount might be lower.
I've bought two cars between Christmas and New Years, the best deal was on New Years Eve. Year end quotas, month end quotas, tax on inventory made eager dealers
Sorry, I mentioned it in another thread. Right now I'm looking at SUVs with 3rd row seating. Not full size but mid-size. I particularly like the Explorer but am looking at all options in the type mentioned above.
Any of you guys know anything about Texas Direct Auto (http://texasdirectauto.com/)? There are several autos they are selling on eBay that I am interested in but I'm not sure of the dealership reputation. Any experiences?
what would yall pay for a 2009 Lexus IS350 with 59K miles. MSRP new was 44500+2500 for chrome wheels. It's listed for 30K right now.
just bought a new '12 If it's 2015 and I have 59k miles and i'm selling mine then in excellent condition, I'd want 30k too but prolly settle at 28.5
How much was your new 12? the IS seems to be holding its value well. I wonder if it's better to just buy a new one especially since we plan to keep the car for a while.
bout 42.5 .9% for 60 months we love it I especially like the day time running lights. Think it looks a lot better than the older models. We plan to keep it a long time so we feel it's a great value especially considering all the stuff Lexus provides the first couple years for maintenance. Go see Bryan Reynolds @ Northside. He was a nice guy
It depends on the vehicle. On some Lexus, Honda, or Ford pickups, 100,000 miles may still not be "too much".
I don't know what options that has on it, but there's one on Carmax with 27k miles for $29,998 (transfer fee to Houston area is $749. There's another one on there with 22k miles for $28,998 with a $599 transfer fee.
I'm thinking hard about the Camry now. The reason being the brand and model have a great reputation and right now they have some good incentives 0% financing and $1000 off for grad school students. Is it hard to get 2012 Camry's below MSRP? Here's the one I am looking at: http://www.wolfchasetoyota.com/detail-2012-toyota-camry-4dr_sdn_i4_auto_se-new-9681626.html
