My bad I knew that after I posted it but I didn't want the edit thingy on the first post. Thanks for clarifying it. On a side note: I know my reaction is kind of pessimistic. It's just that I don't ever remember a Rocket season were I felt we got no breaks. I know that's not a 100% true but it feels like it. It's like everything that could go wrong has. I feel so strongly that this is just not our year. Even in having our players come back healthy. I felt we were gellin' better when Lee and Patterson were playing more. And now Scola and Bud are back and part of me wonders would we have stood a better shot at beating Miami without Scola and Bud playing so many minutes. Probably not but it just sticks in my head like a nail. Also I pretty much feel Adelman is gone. I think is a great basketball mind but one of the things that Les and Morey don't like is his lack of desire to play the guys they trade for it. I don't know if that's true but I do believe Adelman builds a trust with his players just like he does with his coaches and once he has that trust he sticks with you. Anyway that's my opinion and I may be wrong - Barkley
I think fans will often criticize coaches for sticking with certain guys too long and not making quick enough changes. This season, I think there is a legitimate argument that Adelman stuck with AB and Hill too long instead of giving more minutes to Lee (AB's SG minutes at least) and Patterson earlier. There's probably an argument that, when Chase Budinger was shooting poorly early in the season, Lee should have taken his time. On the other hand, if a coach makes these changes too quickly-- i.e. switches a lineup at the first sign of a guys struggle, you end up with something like Larry Brown's tenure with the Knicks, when he was making daily changes to the starting lineup. In any case, there is some merit to being "stubborn" or "loyal" to guys who are struggling-- these guys sometimes do turn around: Chase has snapped out of his funk, Hill looks that way, too. AB never snapped out of it before they traded him, though. Those decisions might have cost the Rockets a playoff berth, but I think the team may well be better in the long run because of them if Budinger and Hill turn out to be valuable players.
It better be Vesely if the Rockets are down in the lottery and he is available. He's definitely the most talented player in the draft.
After NOLA lost today. They need to win 4 games and us win out. Its hard but is very doable. No David West with a hard hard schedule. They have to face Houston once and Grizzle 2 times. If they beat Memphis it benefit us if they lose the same. The best option is still Memphis but a Memphis without west and playing 6 of 8 wining team who are fighting for positions is not out of the equation as the candidate to fall 9.
I really wanna pursue a free gent center like gasol or trade with the pacers. So for a draft pick I like Thomas Robinson. This gives our future athleticism intertwined with bball smarts Lowry/Dragic/ Williams Martin/Lee Buddinger/ Robinson Patterson/ Hayes/ Hill Gasol or hibbet/ thabeet I'd love this team
That team doesn't have any length or athletic ability at 3 crucial spots in the backcourt. Martin and Bud are both outside shooters with limited athletic ability. Patterson looks to be a solid pf and you have 2 decent, if backup, point guards. I am not a big fan of Martin as a starter. But I think he'd make a fantastic 6 man for some team. I'd consider trading martin, but who knows. You guys are playing well, if you have cap room maybe you can add a piece and be competitive if you draft an athletic 3 with size, I like your team more. You could also put a defensive minded shooting guard next to Martin and play Martin at sf. The real problem you have is that Kyle is too small, Kevin is a bad, to terrible defender, and Chase is only really a 3 point threat. Your best position at this point is pf, but you all need size upgrades at all of the positions. The good thing is that Kevin Martin is one of the best pure scorers in the game, but it is my personal contention that his role as a player would be better as a 6th man since his defensive liabilities, but since you guys don't have a choice but to start him you have to make due.
I would love for the Rockets to trade up for either Vesely or Motiejunas (or hope that they drop down to wherever the Rockets pick). We need a big man with the potential to become a real star.
The Houston backcourt tends to outscore every opponent it comes across (and did so again yesterday), tends to be more efficient than their opposing numbers and does it on a combined salary of about $16m, the backcourt isn't the issue.
And I really don't get what ppl mean by Kyle is too small? too small for what? Deron, Derrick and Wall? a lot of pgs are 6'0, but very few have the body of a defensive tackle, Kyle's a big boy, he's 6'0, 205 lbs (that's the same weight as 6'6 kobe bryant and heavier than martin...) when he's fit.
Kyle's putting up All-Star caliber numbers, better than your precious Mike Conley ( who's only 1 inch taller and is much lighter than Lowry), and he isn't a starter. Meanwhile, a top 10 SG in this league is also not a starter purely because of defense. I guess Nash can't be starting on any teams too.

This is my dream as well... anyone who has a shot at harrison barnes would be dumb to give him up though.... I would trade anything to build around him the kid is a baller
I'd be shocked if Kemba isn't a top 5 pick. He's got the clutch factor and is a very good PG, but can take over scoring in crunch time with the best of them. If we're going to take a shot at the star through the draft, and Kemba slips out of the top 5, I would hope we take a shot at trading up for him. I think I'd actually prefer him to play SG so we could keep Lowry, but I think Lowry is far more attractive with his contract.
Actually, it feels like it because it IS 100% true. AFTER posting this thread: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=202066 we have had "the shot" by Okafor. And as well as Memphis is playing where they can beat Boston in Boston on their own merit, you'd think that the basketball gods wouldn't need to take away Duncan and Manu to make it even easier on them. But you would be wrong. As an agnostic, this season has made a believer out of me. At least in the basketball gods. I fear thy wrath. SERENITY NOW
Why not just call Orlando and see who they want us to select...We all know Howard will be top-shelf material this next offseason...And we're the only team out there that can send enough talent ...It aint Rocket science people
