I can honestly say Lecrae is the best rapper Houston has at the moment.... Best Christian rapper ever....

And the main reason why is because of his "Christian Rap" label.... He could have been the next big thing out of Houston had he followed the mainstream market. I sometimes wonder if society will ever stop labeling people for their religion or their beliefs and instead start accepting them for them and what they chose to sing/rap about and whom they put their faith in. That he may not be just another "Christian Artist" but a hip hop artist who actually has the ability to inspire other's with lyrics that are more than just money. Lyrics that could potentially even change someone's life through the message he brings and not just a 3 minute song that tasted good but was unhealthy......

If Jesus wants Lecrae to be the next big thing in the rap game, he will be the next big thing. Trust in HIM.

He is what he is - an anomaly in the hip hop world. Ironically, that is the name of his new album. He chooses not to have himself labeled as a "Christian rapper." However, he recently admitted his unwillingness to collaborate with some of the bigger names in mainstream rap, including Kendrick Lamar.
