I was very pleased to hear the new music at the game, but we must be the only organization that still plays Tone Loc. Don't get me wrong Tone was cool, but that was a long long time ago. The absence of Jump Around was also welcome for the tip off, now we just need to get rid of one more old school CDs.

Wow, I thought the music selection totally SUCKED! Why are they playing 99% Hip Hop music? What language are those guys rapping in, because I can't understand a word they are saying.

    Man I sound old!

Funny...I was thinking the same thing.

We need to get some fresh music in...something to fit the NBA attitude....Peter Tosh - 'Legalize It' and Lords of Acid - 'mar1juana In Your Brain' ...just to name a few.

Fans that pay the big money want to hear music that they can relate to. The music should be uplifting and have a good beat and rythem. If there are lyrics they should have some focus towards the event in hand, not too obscure.

I'm serious. there is a song called 'rockets are red' by a band called girls against boys.... it'd be great for games. here's my Rockets NBA mix:

    Rockets are Red - GVSB
    King of Rock - RunDMC
Seven Nation Army - White Stripes
    Right Thurr - Chingy
    Jay Z - lalala
My minds playin tricks on me - Ghetto Boyz
Rock your body - JTimberlake (for the kids)
    Crosstown Traffic - Hendrix
    and
Song 2 - Blur (just a good sports song)

How about NO MUSIC unless there's a timeout? Quite a concept, I know.

Please no more New Shooz version of I Can't Wait during the game!

Ghetto Boys at the Toyota Center? That is crazy. Mind playing tricks on me is not a song to be played in a family atmosphere and the song has no dance, excercise, hype rhytim to it.

I don't think rock music will be good for basketball. Maybe for some other sport. Rap at least has a rhythm to it.

I think people like you say Rap sucks because you find out the Rock is not the popular music anymore. Most of the youth and younger proffesionals I talk to don't like Rock that much.

Please don't tell me you'd rather hear garbage like $0.50 rather than true, old school hip hop.

    Tone Loc must live.

I've always thought it's funny that they play the Ramones at so many sports events. (including Rockets games).

HEY HO! LETS GO! HEY HO! LET'S GO!

anyway, I really think it would be nearly impossible to play a selection of music that would please everyone or even close to everyone. music is one of the things people are most particular about. i believe the players choose what little sound bite of music is played when they score. i've noticed that it's always the same the entire season. as to the rest of the music played, i'm just sort of amazed they aren't playing things like Kenny G and Garth Brooks and such because everything else is centered around what old rich white men like. That's basically who they're catering to so it's always struck me as odd that the music is really never anything they'd like.

and Swoly D- Exactly how old are you that you don't know what hip hop is? It has only existed for nearly 30 years now.

Play an even selection of (censored) new hip hop stuff and classic old school hip hop and funk. Nothing gets a crowd fired up like "Jungle Boogie." :D

Its about the players, not the fans, IMO. Play what the players wanna hear, and thats mostly rap.

Nobody can get you hype like DMX.
