First of all, Bosh ain't Shaq. That being said, the Heat title team had a pretty good supporting cast: Mourning, Haslem, Antoine Walker, Payton, Posey, Jason Williams. They had a short bench, but most teams shorten the bench in the playoffs.

Current Bosh is a lot better than that Shaq. Shaq towards the end of the 06 playoffs was already starting to look washed up. Antoine Walker as good supporting cast?

You're right Bosh isn't Shaq but it's not like Shaq was Shaq in his prime in Miami.

When Gasol first went there? They didn't have Artest and neither Odom or Bynum (lol more injury) were consistently producing.

Ariza was pretty awful too, don't suddenly praise him just because he's on our team now.

We were in the thick of fighting for a playoffs spot IN THE WEST until Lowry, Ariza, and Battier getting hurt one after another. I'd say we were about as good as Miami last year WITHOUT Yao.

Miami gave up most of their core to get space for Bosh, and then they have to fill the roster wit cheap players. Houston, on the other hand, still would have a ton of assets even after SnT for Bosh to improve on.

Yes, I am a homer. But I do believe that even without counting on Yao, we w/o Bosh will again be at least as good as Miami in the coming season.

Stan said it correctly. Miami is a contender again.
