I hear so many cliff jumpers here talking about the end is near. Where’s the optimism and the fan hood?

Yes, the answer most likely is a rebuild, but with that comes turning a new leaf and challenges of its own. You gotta be in it for the journey

Who's going to be the one to break it to @LosPollosHermanos about the Rockets draft picks?

I like the way you think but russ and james are winning it all this year and dominating the years to come

I would just retool this team in a way that’s sustainable. We got 2 key foundation pieces. Now we just gotta fix the talent around them. I’d rebuild in 3 years and a similar way to how the mavs did. Hardens contract would run out. We would have him here to help develop our new young star whoever we draft.

Gordon could be traded for a First maybe 2. We only lost 2 picks. The rest are swaps with okc

This is the worst "calm down" thread Ive seen. Like its so condescending and mean spirited. We could flame out in the first round and Morey and MDA would still know more basketball than you dude.

I totally forgot and my heart just sank tbh.

If it comes to it maybe westy or harden could be used for some 1sts, don’t imagine they’d wanna be here for a rebuild. It’s tough saying, but can’t try for 2 mediocre subpar years just to avoid it

In fairness, if Morey is still at the helm I'm not afraid. We'd likely recoup some draft picks via trading Harden, Westbrook and some vets. Then once we've cleared our books we'd likely use the Brooklyn model of acquiring picks to take salary off of other teams hands.

If Rockets flame out this year, we are all going to be a lot more productive in our real lives in the coming years with one less team to keep track of. There's optimism in that, right?

lmao, nobody is giving up 2 1st rounders for Eric Gordon...only a very stupid and desperate team would give up even 1 1st round pick

Those guys were 31, were just given a 3 year extension to take them through their decline years, have had a horrific season, and missed 30+ games due to injury? I must’ve missed all the teams giving up 1st round picks for that.

With the #1 pick Morey selects cray cray dude that's afraid to fly. Or 6"6 pf from Kentucky with no poential, or 32 year old euro guard that refuses to come to the US.
