Begin the speculation. Who are the guys who don't want McHale back? Harden--he's been disagreeing with McHale's instructions. He also seems not to like it too much when we focus on posting up Howard. Howard--the image of him slumped over after we lost Game 6 is etched in my mind. it's like his knees buckled under him or something. He has been coached by good ones in his career, so he knows McHale is not good enough. Heck, it was CD and Hakeem who taught him his post-moves. DMo--obviously for not getting any PT who else?
D12 came here b/c of Mchale... Lin and Asik are more than likely gone and they know it.... Parsons gets all the PT he desires... Would cyberx even bother mentioning the bench players? That leaves Harden, Jones, Bev
I think the outcome of the post season really dictates who teams are willing and not willing to trade.
That poor man was disrespected here... Poor guy SLEPT in his office most nights... Guy worked harder than ANYONE and was not appreciated. I do not see that happening.
1 more tidbit I heard Rockets may bring a special assistant in for training camp... Name mentioned to me was Bruce Bowen. A defensive minded player/coach to help Harden and some of the other guys (but more specifically James).
^^Excellent post (which I abbreviated here). That draft order will affect so much. Philadelphia with those two lottery picks (unless New Orleans lucks into a Top 5 and gets to keep the pick). For me, the only untouchable on this team is Dwight Howard. Obviously James Harden will be kept, but for various reasons I wouldn't cry if he wound up in Philly or Orlando for cap room and a Top 5 draft pick. (Don't bash me, it won't happen, and I'm still left wondering why he wilted so completely until Game 6....and then wound up overriding the coach and being wrong.) I hope Morey is aggressive. I hope the plan isn't, "McHale is good enough, we'll ride it out for Kevin Love". It's so tough to make a real wish list because you don't know which teams might be induced to take on Lin's contract. Asik has more value but ditto. What players or picks would have to be attached? What would we get back in return? Could we wind up with cap space for a Bosh if he became available? Etc.
Honestly, if McHale is staying -- a solid, defensive-minded associate coach and someone specifically tasked w/staying on Harden's ass is about the best I could ask for. Hope both of those tidbits come to fruition.
Sleeping in your office matters not if you don't get results, unfortunately. No rewards for hard work. Rewards for winning.
Harden and Parsons and Jones and virtually everybody else not named Bev and Howard. Will he also coach team defense? Like how to guard last possessions? Because that involves strategies and schemes. I really am wondering what McHale's job description looks like.
Shane Battier would have been perfect. He would be funny, uplifting and teach them about angles. Defending smart Who would coach Harden what to do when the refs don't call fouls?
I'm pretty sure if cyberx reveals all his info, somebody within the Rockets organisation might just start a purge to prevent future leaks. Don't get too greedy guys.
