Hahaha. Its going to be at least 3-4 years before we pay 9 million a year for any WR. Bowe is good but I dont know why people would think he would be a good fit anywhere for that much money. If Bowe was making 3-4 mil this year and looking for big money it would be realistic.
Bowe is one of the more talented WR in the NFL...no way he would make anywhere near 3-4 million a year. I mean, Walter signed a 5 year, 21 million dollar deal...so there would be no reason to expect Bowe to be making less than that. Compare Andre's career per game to Bowe. Andre has had 5.7 receptions, 78 yards, and 0.42 TDs per game. Bowe has had 4.8 receptions, 66 yards, and 0.48 TDs per game. Obviously, Andre is one of the best...but Bowe has never had anyone near Schaub to throw him the ball. Dwayne has had the pleasure of receiving from Damon Huard, Tyler Thigpen, and now Matt Cassell. In any case, Bowe is a legitimate #1 receiver in the NFL. Put him on any team with any semblance of a QB and you'll have a player that is capable of 100 catches, 1250 yards, and 10+ TDs.
Not to say we don't want him. It's just that we can't have him. I can probably name 5 wide receivers who I would want opposite Andre but it wouldn't work financially. Not bashing bowe. is there any realistic chance of getting him is more what I meant. The answer is no. Reason why I mentioned the money was because up and coming receivers make around that much. Established players make 9 mil. If bowe was up and coming making half that then you take a flier for rental to solidify your Super Bowl run and then let someone else pay him after the year knowing you won't be able to match. We will have a hard enough time keeping the guys we have thanks to the cap
