I knew someone would suspect this when I saw the mock yesterday. I wish I got to call games. I think Vandermeer stalks me because that draft is what I'd predict, except sub running backs for Booker. Who ldnt mind Drake though.
It's the high variance draft. Either homeruns or duds.I like the idea of addressing skill positions early.
I'd expect Smith or BOB to reach out to Herman for advice in drafting either Ohio player...I'd trust Herman's advice, so I'd trust Houston to pick the right Ohio St guy, if that's the route they take.
So, a lot of people in this thread were saying we'd never spend a first on a WR, but now that we've signed some free agents, it seems a quiet few want us to get a speedster. I think Miller likely goes around the top or mid second, but if he's available with our pick in the second round, I think he's the perfect speed receiver for this team. He's a gadget player that easily fills the Weller role. Hell, I think we could do extremely well by taking an Ohio State prospect in the first three rounds: 1. Taylor Decker 2. Braxton Miller 3. Nick Vannett
Absolutely. Have all along, though I wouldn't mind Coleman. Miller has O'Brien written all over him. I told someone he was the Bill Gates version of Cecil Shorts.
Can't play it safe when trying to win a Championship. Although I would feel much better about taking him in the second or third round, but he could add an X-factor to the offense we haven't had
Playmaking, speed, versatility. He's a chess piece, and versatility is something this staff covets. Imagine him running the wildcat for two point conversions after catching a touchdown pass. Imagine an explosive punt returner. A slot receiver that's a threat to take it to the house on a five yard slant. An emergency quarterback. Etc. Etc.
If the report is that they like him it probably means they don't. Lots of misinformation coming out when you're picking as late as the Texans are.
Yup. It'd be interesting to see how much public interest was shown about Kevin Johnson last draft or any other draft pick really outside of Clowney. Miller is an interesting prospect but BoB has nothing to gain and more to lose by even slightly showing his hand, that goes for any team not picking number one.
Coleman checks most to all boxes. The Texans like him. The majority of mocks have us taking Coleman. I'm sure it's out who we really like or don't.
Im all for a WR in the 2nd. Go O-Line or D-line in the first. Tyler Boyd or Braxton Miller in the 2nd. TE in the 3rd.
